Stat. rev limit with high boost

I logged my car today with the stationary rev limit set to 6500rpm and at a load site of 190 and I was building low boost … Now what I’m thinking of doing is changing the stationary rev limit load site to something like 10 from 190 and then go to the fuel and timing map and change those sites to let’s say:

Fuel table @ 6500 = 9 AFR @ load site 10 and 20 column (just to be on the safe side) and IGN table @ 6500 = -2 or -5 @ load site 10 and 20

With that, I think we can build some decent boost and most likely we will never hit those sites at normal driving condition … What do you think guys?

Thanks,

Az

er how are you going to change the load site to 10?

<table name="Stationary Rev Load" category="Stationary Limits" address="16e4" type="1D" level="1" scaling="uint16"/>

Check the picture I have attached and the above code .. If you don't already have it .. try it

I can't remember how I came about to that ... it's been a while, anyway, that code or site whatever you want to call it, will allow you to tell the ecu to look up the load site for the stat. rev limit ..

On my map I had it at a load site of 190 and now I want to change it to 10 ... The issue is would you guys think that I would hit those sites at normal driving condition? (ref. pic above)

load is determined by airflow... not by where you tell it to go. I have no idea what that value is for. I dont think you can just tell it to use the load values in the 10 column. I could be wrong but I havent heard of that. Intersting mod if that's what it does.

I covered something similar to this last year that also works (without adding this def). Alter the area that the car sits on when its on the limiter both RPM and Load. I am gonna mess around with this later tonight. I would like to know where that address came from if at all possible...here...aktivematrix...etc.

EDIT- the 16e4 address doesnt work with the USDM IX...unless its sposed to be 199?

Retarding the timing that far will significantly increase your EGT's and will cause damage to turbo and possibly the manifold.

Yes, its 199 and not 190 sorry

EDIT: Also try this address "16e6" .. I think this is the upper limit of the stat. rev limit (i.e. cut fuel @ "274a" and cut IGN @ "16e6")

I logged the stationary limit and found that I was in cells 120 - 160. I haven't added the code you mention here, but decreasing timing advance in the 12-160 area of the map does affect the boost reached while using the stationary limiter.

If the method you mention does work it would let me get rid of the odd timing block in the middle of my map that's set up for the stationary limiter.

Its just for the launch limiter, which if you are smart you only use for a few seconds at a time anyway. But good point about EGT's.

Pulling timing will turn the stationary rev limiter into an antilag like setting. Very hard on the turbo.

My timing is still advanced in the 120 - 160 cells (+7º) and I reach 12 psi on the stationary limiter.

I experimented with as little as -10* of timing in the 140-180 range at 6000 (or wherever I had my limiter set). I tried also taking the timing out in the 0 and 10% columns as well. I eventually got it to make boost, but everytime I would go to race the car it would bog on the launch. On 116 I have seen the normal load cell timing values for the load cell. The only reason I think it drops at all is the knock algorithm. It certainly isnt pulling anything other than fuel that I can tell...well at least on purpose.
