Yes, absolutely the changes must be checked with a wideband. Much like tuning for high load at 11.5 AFR only you're tuning low load at 15.5. You still want to know what the actual AFR is, despite the numbers in the fuel table.

 

The difference is that the cat only works properly at stoich. In fact, if I recall correctly it works best if the ratio flutuates slightly lean/rich right around stoich. Conveniently enough, this is how the car operates in closed loop. I really don't know for sure if the cat would be damaged by consistent lean operation but I suppose it is possible. However, if you're running the cat and dealing with the reduced power from the restriction, I'd think you'd at least want it to do its job.

I have an 05 Evo VIII and as previously stated in this thread, my values display in VOLTS, not TPS. Can someone explain to me how I would go about making changes that correlate to TPS from VOLTS? Or, better yet, how would I edit the table to display TPS% instead of VOLTS??

right click the table and select edit. there is a drop down for scaling changes.

I've been running open loop for some time. Today I have a p0125 code. obd2 is wanting me to do some closed loop.
Is there a work around?Thanks

 

Hmmm thats a coolant temp code. Did you accidentally effect min temp for closed loop? I know in the past I did that and got the same code, just an idea.

 

yeah, right after I posted I checked the coolant temp and I had changed it a couple of weeks back and downloaded it today.

Would this have anything to do with my car dipping real rich at 1500-2000rpm in the 80-110load? It bogs too. I hope someone can help.

 

Well you car goes rich when going into open loop which means you need to change your map in that area.

 

My map is 14.7 in that area.
