GM solenoid getting frustrated!! Need help

Ok I been messing with this GM Solenoid for sometime now, and I cannot get past the dam thing feelling like it is skipping thru boost thru 3500-4500 then afterwards it comes on smooth and the car feels like a bat out of hell. Anyone know how to get around this, I heard MRFRED's boost patch works and gets around this but it is not available for my rom yet. I did not have this issue with the stock solenoid ever. I have tried various settings, boost offsets, changed settings so many times. I am seriously thinking about putting the stock solenoid back even though this solenoid is cable or more boost range. Any input please save me lol

By the way the boost holds solid, it is just that everytime I hear the boost skip the car feels slow, if it does not skip the car feels great.

By boost skipping what do you mean exactly?

Also make sure your solenoid isn't faulty. someone on here had a bad one i believe.

Load based boost control is not as great at psi based boost control. On the load system, sometime you need 22 or 24lbs for the same load. Inconstant.

The GM is a lot better then the stock one and the stock one is harder to tune. ECU boost control is not for ever one. For some people I recommend them to just put a MBC on and call it a day. Someone in this forum would probably trade a MBC for a GM solenoid.

well I dont know how to make the sound effects so it is hard to day, also hard to actually record since it is not that loud, but it sounds something like tssss ts ts ts ts ts to about 4500 then tssssssssssssss all the way thru redline. I did swap solenoids for a new one a while back and it did make me turn my wastegate duty down a lot. I have tuned a few boost solenoids before, I have used a GM Boost Solenoid on my Turbo honda with aem, not hard to tune at all and it worked great.

I know what you mean, I'm still using the load based method and I sometimes get 22 psi and other times I can get up to 25.
So the jdm map sensor method holds boost more consistantly? I need to get me a jdm sensor

If you can't get the load-based system to work reasonably well, the direct boost control setup won't be any better. Can you post a typical log (2200-7000 rpm, 3rd gear, WOT)? What boost control hardware are you using besides the GM Solenoid? Just a modified pill at the IC pipe? Is there still a pill in the line in front of the GM Solenoid?

Not much I can do with that log. Can't see TPS, 2-byte load, WGDC, etc. What program did you use to get that log?

Are you running straight vac lines with no pills?

I would lean towards a faulty GM solenoid or install as I have installed over 20 with no problem like you are reporting.

By the way are you guys just venting it straight to atmosphere or rerouting to intake tube. I am rerouting, but thinking of just venting. Ok I think I found the formula for wgdc, but how do you log base wgdc. Anyone have that formula for at least evoscan?
