very nice for beginners, only comments I have are. In your timming explanation you should have mentioned that timing map 2 is the base map and map#1 is the advanced map. The evo will use map 2 for timing and during its learning phase (which no body understands) it will at certain periods add the advanced timing to the base map , i.e #1 added to #2 to increase the overal timing, first using only adding about 1/2 the full advanced map and if its algorithm dont see a problem add the full amount or decrease it and jump to map#3 if major problems.
I dont think anyone outside of mitsubishi will ever come up with the algorithm, way to complicated. Maybe after we figure out the Cam timing , we can mathematically get closer.

As you have seen from recent posts on this forum, that "one time fee" seems as though it will arbitrarily be applied to some updates going forward and not all. So probably best to change the wording there.
4. Logging Software: The most widely used logging software is Evoscan (http://www.limitless.co.nz/EvoScan). It uses the tactrix cable to log data from your ECU port. It also allows you to integrate data from your WBO2 with the data from your ECU port. It costs $25. It is a one time fee that entitles you to later updates of the software. It is very user friendly and easy to set-up. If you want free software, then try Mitsulogger from the aktivematrix web site.

"The higher the timing number in the load cell that the car hits during WOT, the sooner the spark plug is fired. The lower the timing number in the load cell during WOT, the sooner the spark plug is fired"
I'll take it that this is a typo since higher/lower timing # does not = sooner firing of sparkplug. So which one causes sooner firing, and which one causes slower? Thanks. (I printed it out and am studying

Give him time. He's currently working on the 2G eclipse/talon non-turbo cars with me(420A chrysler engine). Dont know how long it might take him, but at least he's putting in the effort. He has a lot going on right now with the newer features and upgrades so I'd just hang in there for a while.
30* of total allowed motion, advance early on helps spool, advance/retard up top based on your cam specs. To best optimise it get a dyno simulator with cam software and spend a little time with it and it will be real easy. OR look at the thread that NJ linked and ignore about 1/2 the posts. The ones that have tech in them will lead the way. I have heard that the cam gear is PW modulated though I myself have no proof either way.
