I just got a new tactrix cable due to my first one suddenly not working and the new cable works fine when I run Evoscan but when I try and download my rom with EcuFlash I just get an error that says "review log" When I try and download the rom it goes

(0003)
(FFFF)
and then the Error message. Anybody have any ideas because I really need to get into my maps and make a few adjustments along with adding the NLTS patch. I was originally running 1.29 and now downloaded 1.33 to see if that would fix the problem and it didn't.

 

What kind of laptop you running?

 

compaq. Ive never had a problem with EcuFlash before this.

 

I do not know the back side of ecuflash enough to be sure but it looks like the FFFF and 0001 are IRQ's so my guess would be you have a IRQ conflict on your pc.

Like I said thats a total guess though. Wish I could be more help.

 

What was the actual error you got after those codes? those three codes are just init codes to trigger the ECU read/write.

If the error is "no response to any known code" then the init code is no longer 0001. You should try using the ECU unlocker to trigger the universal init code if thts the case.

Go on aktivematrix.com and download it. Then start it and leave it running while you open ECUFlas.

 

Nevermind I see it's downloadable on your site. Just waiting for my confirmation email to finish the registration process. I assume it's user friendly and doesn't require advanced skills?

BTW check your spam box if you didn't get your registration e-mail yet. It seems like every anti-spam system has been flagging e-mail from aktivematrix as spam.

 

Ok I got that far and am using the Ecu unlocker to download my rom but now after the rom is fully downloaded I get a window that pops up.

The top of the window says "setup ROM" and says
"ecuflash could not recognize this rom image using any of the current definitions. You can choose one of the following options:

Abort using this rom
Continue using this rom with no definitions
use wizard to create a new definition

My car was tuned by Jester. Does he do more then lock the roms so you can't possibly access and make alterations to the rom?

 

PM him and ask him. Although its not commonplace anymore, some tuners did alter the internal ECU ID to make examining them more difficult. Its also highly likely that you just dont have a definition for this particular ECU ID.

 

I have the same issue, and im using ecuflash1.3 and unlocker, but I havent checked in since the last time when i asked him is he locked it, Yes he does, and No he didnt mod the rom. so your def must be wrong or not there
