You could run a bit more high rpm timing at the 300 load column. I'm assuming your motor is built?

Yes - 2.0 with 8,5:1 Ross pistons/Manley rods, but stock head with Kelford's 272.
And my "driving feelings" says that car is running really good until the redline, so You are saying he could even go harder after change 300 column ?

can I get some help smoothing my power curve from 5-6k rpm?

AFR's arent shown, but they go from 11.5 at peak boost, down to 10.9ish at redline

what gas are you on?

i almost think that weird plateau then jump in power is from it wanting more timing.

Prowakeskater- If you could post a log that would help a lot. Also, a plateau like that could also be caused by an imperfection in the road. Do you see the same plateau in the same area in all of your logs? Perhaps try doing a pull on a different road to see if you see the same thing.

Im on 93

thanks man, that could be it, although it was a pretty damn flat road next to the ohio river...

heres a log: https://rapidshare.com/files/2378960908/loh.csv

I think most of my graphs show a similar trend, a slight dip in the 5-6k range

should also point out that I have:

aem dryflow, unknown LICP, XSpower intercooler, full TBE with test pipe

I think I see at least part of the problem. Your boost is fluctuating after you hit your peak of 24.8 @ 3671 until you get to about 5500 (which is where things smooth out and the power increases). Are you using ECU-controlled boost or is it an MBC? It doesn't look like it's an issue with the boost setting because the WGDC isn't bouncing around so your boost shouldn't be jumping up and down almost a full psi like that. I'm thinking you probably have an issue with either your BOV, the boost controller, or possibly even the wastegate but I'm leaning towards the BOV. What BOV are you running?

I wouldn't worry about timing too much until you get that boost issue straightened out.

Looks like you're running plenty of timing up top. If you worried about that dip at the end don't be. That's just a smoothing issue with VD. Almost all of my pulls look that way. I haven't played with it a lot yet, but the new version of VD (1.1.1) seems to have fixed that problem.

I'm using a GReddy RS set to vta and a MBC. Think it could use a couple tightening turns? I may also have a boost leak from my shaft seals... havent ran a test recently. I'll put it on my priority list

and thanks, didnt realize VD did that. kind of unnecessary but I guess the power is on the downhill anyway.

Are you talking about tightening the BOV or the MBC? Either way, I'm not sure tightening either one would make a difference but you could give it a shot. Otherwise, if you have an extra BOV and MBC laying around, or someone that does, try swapping them out and then see if you still get that fluctuation in your boost.

I meant tightening my BOV, Its adjustable from the top for holding different boost levels I think..

I bought a stock IX bov, but I was having problems with the RPM rising during shifts, but that was before I was tuning, so I think I could change my Idle Stepper look up table accordingly, but I dont know the correct way to change it. A stock table would help...

The RS did grow on me, though. I think a boost leak test up to 30psi should get me squared away. I would love to blame it on the shaft seals so I can change them with the new ones I just bought.
