patches not saving in rommetadata for 96940011

Im having trouble saving the new patches in my ROM for the 96940011 ECU.
Everytime i try and save the new patch to ECUFLASH i get an error saying.

Access to C:\program files\openecu\ecuflash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\evo\ 96940011.xml was denied

im unable to go past this step because the rom definition can never be saved for ECUflash to recognize it when i start it up. Is this an issue using Vista or am i doing something wrong i dont know about. I tried pasting the additional patches in both wordpad and notepad but i cant save in either one.

I would really like to enjoy all the new features u guys are coming out with, but i got this one lil' prob. any suggestions would help.

Are you editing the code in notepad? All you have to do is right click on it and click open with notepad. Add the code you want, and hit the save button before you close the window. DONE!!

problem solved thanks to MRFRED, special thanks to u bud. For some odd reason i wasn't able to directly make changes to the xml file through notepad or word after clicking on in through the rommetadata files under program files. I actually had to drag that rom xml file into my desktop, makechanges to it there, and then drag it back directly into that folder. worked like a charm that way. Copying and pasting through the rommetadata folder using wordpad for some reason never worked, maybe it was a vista save error or something. Drag the xml into the desktop, modify & save, then drag it back into the evo rommetadata folder = success
