Brian Crower 280s and Mivec Map
All,
I just installed some BC 280s and the car was running like crap with the JDM MIVEC map.
This one:

I ended up running the stock map and the car is responding as expected.
For those running any 280 duration cams on an Evo IX.... Do you mind posting your Mivec map?
Just curious if it is just the BCs or some other brands run bad on the JDM map!

Running like crap (Ruh-ning lIk crah-p) n: 1. To move in such a way to exhibit characteristics of feces. 2. To idle as though a poop log was in the valve cover.
lol... couldn't resist.

lol..... Guys! It was 2 AM local time when I wrote the thread! Bear with me!
Meaning the car was not accelerating properly as if it was out off one tooth in the timing belt.
It was making a sound as if the car was loosing power the more advanced the intake cam was. Based on the logs on Evoscan!
After loading the OEM US VVT map found on the revision 15, the car responded as if the cam was on the right timing. Not sure if I am clear enough but basically, the same setup with the OEM map is running well now.
The car now accelerates normal and no longer stall under a sudden WOT press.
My goal is to find what VVT map people are running on 280s! And, if anyone else experienced the need to load OEM US Map because the car is not responding as expected with cams.

Did these come with a cam card? If they did I can run it through my dyno sim software that I have been using since the dawn of time and see. If they are close to the VIII as I suspect they are (I am sure the exhaust is the same) the lobecenters are going to be pretty tight (low numbers in the 106* range...instead of 112*+ like they need to be). What boost are you seeing 270 load at peak torque and what RPM?
