Cool! What pill size are you running on your EVO? How much boost are you getting with that? Already ordered a 65 but I can still drill it to make it a lil bigger than 65 maybe a 60 so it does not make as much boost. My target is 23 PSI

The "strange numbers" are the drill bit sizes used to make them.

#56 = 0.046in = 1.181mm
#60 = 0.040in = 1.016mm
#65 = 0.035in = 0.889mm

solenoid 1.4 mm
turbo 1.2mm

From 05 MR VIII

The factory pills are brass, and the holes are tapered. The quoted diameters are the smallest ID which is what you really after any way. Taper is approx 60 degree included angle and overall length is about 5mm. Small end faces the turbo and on the solenoid faces away from solenoid.

60 will do it for you. You will be able to hit 23 - 25 but it will taper up top. Set the WG preload to just completely off the pin. I use a 58 TP and 54 SP and keep the boost to 18 pretty flat. WG preload 3/4 of hole showing . For track days I reflash and run 21 tapering to 18. You can get more by removing the solenoid pill but it will be more spiky.

BTW i used 5 mm nylon rod to cut various pill sizes from. Easier than brass.

Hope this helps

Milburn

The pills are found in the hoses running out of the turbo and the BCS correct? I know one of the hoses of the BCS runs to the Intake pike and the other to the wastegate/turbo.

Thanks.

I removed my pills and did not take any notes on how the stock pills were positioned. One side of the pill has a flatter surface compared to the other side. Is this correct or do i have them the other way around

You are correct. In addition the two pills are different sizes and need to go in the correct location.

So theres 2 pills in the stock IX bcs line correct? One by the bcs and then another after where it tee's off. My question is on the 2nd pill after the T does that hooks to the turbo outlet pipe? I think I might have mine backwards if that picture is correct (reason why it spikes to 25psi on stock tune )

Yes two pills.

One on the solenoid side. Should go to the bottom port (by the plug)

The larger pill on the turbo side should be in the vac line to the compressor outlet. The other vac line off the T has a red marking at the end and that goes to the actuator.

Does the modified GST pill in combination with the OEM solenoid makes a good job holding boost (not very high boot, just 23 psi) to redline? Or is it better to change the stock for the 3 Port GM for 23 psi apps.

I note that the Subaru guys are using a ProDrive EBCS (Electronic Boost Control Solenoid). Is that compatible with the EVO?

The pill broaden the the area under the curve but will not hold 23psi at redline.
