trying to flash

trying to flash my ecu today, but the when trying to add more fuel to the afr, the its not doing it. i havea walbro 255 pump in there but its not adding. we would ad fuel, save then do a pull and the aft isnt anywhere near what we put it at. do any of you think that it may be bad injectors, or bad fuel filter? this is ridiculous and causing massive head aches, any suggestions?

what is your IDC. dont matter if you got 10 walbro pumps, if your injectors are maxed out at 99% duty cycle, it wont add any more fuel.

that only matters silghtly there are tolerance differences in all parts. Mabye their injectors are flowing better than yours and your need more flow to keep the same a/f ratio with all other things same, temp. pressure ect..check your IDC first then go from there.

Did you buy the install kit with the pump or just drop the pump in?

IDC= Injector Duty Cycle

Im at work but when i get home I will pm you the fuel reg/pump stuff for you. If i were you i would pull your injectors and have a shop flow test them for you and clean them out.

so you're trying to tune your evo, but you don't know what IDC is.

does anyone else see something wrong with that?

Nope. Perfectly normal so he can spend 7K getting a new 2.3RR.

Sometimes these flashing programs are in the hands of the wrong people...

I don't see what the problem is with that? How else is he suppose to learn? There is always risk involved with tuning your own car. No matter how good you think you are. With beginners, yes, it's a far greater risk, but all the more power to you for trying to learn!!!

EDIT: To answer your question. Duty cycle is the amount of time that the fuel injectors are switched on. A duty cycle of 0% means that the injector is not on at all, a duty cycle of 100% means the injector is on constantly. Duty cycle at idle is normally only a few percent, rising as revs or load increases. Which is why it was already said to you that if your IDC is near 100 percent, that means it's giving you all it can. If you're still falling short, then it's because it simply cannot meet the demands your making. This may be a bad part, too small (ie. you may need bigger cc injectors) or in need of cleaning.

So every time you add more fuel to the map and then when you log it the afr stays the same like you made 0 changes? Am I reading that right?

I found on my IX that unless I made the low / high map the same my afr would never change no matter how much I was trying to lean it out from the high map to get the afr I wanted. Soon as I made the low map the same then my afr changed to where I wanted it......

dunno if thats your problem or not but thats my stab at what im trying to understand from your explanation
