Was this map replaced before or after the engine?

I think I have actually found worse. To make matters worse, the people responsible for these timing maps are now charging big bucks for evo X "tunes" LOL!

Okay, so the first thing you notice is the map is the low octane map. That was the only map that was tuned, the high octane was stock. Apparently they thought high octane was only for racegas or something. The car had HKS 272s and all the normal suspects but what is up with the 1* at 7500? BTW this map was done by a reputable east coast shop back in the day. I think they probably understand the stock ECU a little better nowadays but the timing is scary.

lol, we need some secret way to tell eachother who these shops/tuners are. I'd be horrified if I suggested a shop that ever did some of the work I've done above. I get worried when I see people say they came from "reputable" or "well-known" shops/tuners. lol, of course it doesn't affect me personally seeing as I do everything myself. One of the benefits of being broke.

Its crazy that they knew enough how to re-scale the load axis but not enough to know the difference between hi and low octane maps, lol.

My first tune was done by a reputable shop in Dirty Jerse and it was block tuned as well. If it wasn't for the irregularities with the tune, I would have never ventured on my own and found this forum. So I guess their inadequacies were a blessing in disguise for me

I think a big problem is that most shops with racecars are used to tuning only the WOT cells and then hitting the track. They don't know much about part throttle driveability, changing weather conditions etc. The average enthusiast tuner on the forum with a 11-13 second stock ecu car that drives it every day knows how to make the car behave day in and day out.

I wonder if MalibuJack would be for/against a "Tooners" forum on Activematrix to "expose" some of these tunes, and be able to blatently spell out the names..

The Truth Shall Set You Free....

Would be all for the best correct; I mean we wouldnt want our Evo Broz ****ing up their 30K+ car cause of a guy who "thought they knew what they were doing". Lets put all the cards on the table; plus I need to know who NOT to go to when Im ready for a "Professional Tune".
