Interesting pix we might learn from

Post up pix/charts/graphs that you think are neat and may not have posted before that you think may benefit some of our understandings.

I was bored today:

My current 29psi (OE turbo, WI) fuel map. Runs 11.5 tapering up to around 11.7 at 7K.

Damit, I have been using excel for quite some time doing just this, just never thought about posting it.

Usually after I am done with a tune, I will dump it into excel and look at it as a color separated 2-D graph. It's amazing how you can immediately see where discontinuity exists, and where you will get funky transitions, especially in timing. Then you find interpolation becones your friend.

Being able to see a graphical representation of your timing map makes things easier, and you are able to "visually see" how it will work. It's much easier to see color lines than lines by numbers.

I think a "Roadmap" to areas on the map would be useful, that will help newbs understand where the values come onto play.

Here is a quick wack at one. Feel free to refine and help out.

in my experience:
0-1500 at high load = nothing. never seen that on anything.

30load @ 2500-4000 = cruise @65-80mph

uphill cruise for me (lots of hills round here):
2500-4000 @ 80-140 load (0-7psi)

everythign else looks good tho.

You forgot the "flamethrower" section of the map.

I am a newb of newbs at tuning and trying to get an understanding of how this all works, this map certainly helps bring some clarity of one way to interpret looking at these maps. Thank you ALOT!

Very good idea!

By the way, that highlighted area (gray) on the fuel map is a third gear pull in my car. Dunno if I've said that.
