Where is the fuel temp sensor? Up front or out back? If it's in the engine bay, that would be ideal as you could just steal the wire from that location.
because most people don't believe in cutting into stock wiring.....especially when its really simple to pull the pin and slide a new pin in.

Well I have the ECU extension harness so that's sort of what it's intended for.

If the fuel temp sensor was in the engine bay, I'd be tempted to use that though.

Thanks. I wonder though how it affects the tune since if the IAT sensor senses the drop in temperature, does the ECU add fuel at that point?

I have the Tephra mod done v7 and it already has the patch installed but the scaling is not correct. With evoscan I'm getting a reading of 195F. If I unplug the sensor it still reads the same. Maybe bad sensor? I have 96530706 loaded. I drove it in about 65F weather and the temp reading went down to 170F. Guessing scaling is off.

Did you ever figure this out? I am having the same issue with the 88590715 Tephra V7 ROM. I wired up the sensor and am getting 4.73V (like mrFred talked about half way through this thread) at the signal wire going to the MAT but nomsense in the EvoScan log. Any ideas?

EDIT: I soldered up another 2-pin pigtail so I could get a good test of the sensor. After driving the car around and it sitting in the garage for a couple hours the sensor read ~1.7Kohms. Tested the spare sensor I have in my parts box and it was 3K inside the house in free air (70F or so). Seems like the MAT sensor installed in the car is okay...humm...I will play more with it tomorrow. I can run the car and see how the resistance changes.
Am I going to have to swap to the SD v7 ROM, which is already patched for MAT? I was hoping to log load and MAT/MAP and build a starting point for my VE tables ahead of time.

I did figure mine out. My MAT tables were not set correctly. All 6 tables have to be setup per MRFREDs settings. The scaling he has didnt work for me though so I used scaling settings from an sd rom. Works great now. Also make sure you have a good ground and that you are logging the correct request through Evoscan. My request is set to 09.

Well I have isolated it to the v7 ROM.

I tested the sensor again after the car sat all night and the resistance I measure gives me the same temperature as what I am reading for the MAF temperature (86F from both).

I patched the last version of my stock ROM with the MAT patch and I can log it fine. But went I swapped back to my V7 ROM I get 195.5F. My guess is tephra moved some stuff around and this doesn't work for the 88590715 ROM or something... I guess I am going to start another thread and see if a guru somewhere can shed some light...

Im not sure if that rom supports it or not but if you do start a thread then add the link here for others. Are you sure all the 1d, 2d and 3d tables under MAT in ecuflash are set correctly? If not then it wont look in the right area of the MUT table.

I downloaded the 96530006 version just to look at the xml def structure and there are quite a few more tables than in the 88590015 version. I double checked that I had the MAT patch table setup right and it is. Looks like the 88590015 ROM only has one table unlike the 96530006.

What confuses me is that with my stock ROM loaded with the patch it seems to work fine...I guess that really isnt too confusing but I dont know where to go from here.

Fixed it. The fuel sensors were turned off in the periphery bits.
Here is the fix.
