Patch how-to: manifold air temperature logging
If you want a 1/8" NPT sensor with GM IAT scaling check the link below.

Thanks but that's a 1/8. I already have a 1/4 in the tube unfortunately. Like I said I made a conversion table so i just need to plug in those numbers and I should be good to go

Both sides of the table can be adjusted. These types of sensor sensors are very non-linear, so they need to be mapped over the entire expected operating range. How did you do the comparison?
I stuck a thermometer, a gm sensor, and my sensor in a box, with the elements hanging in the air. Created a voltage divider circuit and cal'd the gm sensor with a pot (turned out to be 5.1k if I remember right) to the table at room temp. Had a meter hooked up to each sensor to measure the drop.
Stuck it in the oven up to about 130F and then recorded temp, and both sensor voltage drops every 5 degrees until it cooled near room temp. Then I stuck it in the freezer and did the same thing from ~10F to room temperature. Plotted everything thing out, took out some inconsistencies out and filled in the blanks.

i havent read the whole thread so sorry. but what is the difference between the one pointed to by 03white and one from ballenger?? also i presume i need to find a socket and weld that in to screw this sensor?
also if i was to keep my stock airbox w/o the maf, but with the cover cut off, aka JB's airbox mod, would there be any noticible gain in power?? i have a bbk lite and gsc s1 cams

As far as the sensor, depending on where you want to install it, you may or may not need to weld on a bung. I had a bung welded to my UICP pipe to install the sensor. Others tab the existing bung on the stock IM near the map sensor.
As far as your airbox question, yes, most definitely it would pick up some power. The stock airbox is very restrictive. The only inlet is the cross section of the snorkel. Removing that restriction via jcsbanks mod or an open element filter will help a lot.

i have installed the iat sensor patch. its evo 8 on pin 77. with blue-white wire..
and also patched my rom. when i log mat it always shows 195 f.
check that i have done.
tested my iat sensor at room, hot and cold temp and resistance is within the range.
key on. pin 77 a 4.7 v
and other is ground..
i have also swapped my sensor and still the same thing..
i have installed a 1k 1/2w resistor between the 77 and ground and still the same thing.
i have copied all my table . i don't see if i i am missing something..
if some one could help me out that would be great.

Just wanted to get a current recall and see where everyone has their iat sensors placed for their SD setups. I know the pros and cons of each spot, just curious to what most are doing and how it has been treating you.
Thanks
Thanks
Anybody know if it has to go before or after a methanol nozzle? I would imagine before the methanol sprayer... just want to be 100%
Stupid question, but why pull the pin from the harness for fuel temp? Why not cut the existing wire and use that for input?
Where is the fuel temp sensor? Up front or out back? If it's in the engine bay, that would be ideal as you could just steal the wire from that location.
