In looking through the code again, it appears that FAA bit.6 is only used to control whether the speed limit test is enabled.

mrfred, if the FAA bit6 is disabled, then which WGDC table is being used, the lower of higher address table?

Both should be used as usual. The only limiter in the boost control code is a feature that gradually reduces boost if the engine has been running at more than 7000 rpm for more than 2 minutes.

Is that the "vent the block" limiter?

Yeah, its definitely a candidate for the least likely to be encountered limiter.

So your trying to get the EGR to turn on and it won't? What is your primary goal? Is the engine light on?

In looking a little further, it appears that setting FCA bit.13 = 0 may also affect some of the ISCV control routines.

I have noticed slightly lower gas milage since I disabled theses, but I attributed it to driving habits.

I believe FCA bit 15, 14, and 13 were recommended disables when removing the EVAP/EGR. bit 15 should also take care of FPS CELs (or FEA bit7).

For a breakdown of what MrFred has listed (from http://www.obd-codes.com/ ):
bit.15
-------
P0443 - Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit
P0446 - Evaporative Emmission Control System Vent Control Circuit
P0403 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Malfunction
P0243 - Turbocharger Wastegate Solenoid 1 (probably not - mitsu specific P1103 + P1104)
P0090 - ???
P2263 - ???

bit.14
-------
P0450 - possible vent/purge/evap solenoid
P0451 - fuel tank pressure / vent valve / EVAP
P0452 - fuel tank pressure sensor (NA - we don't have one)
p0453 - Evaporative System pressure sensor/switch high input

bit.13
-------
P0441 - Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow
P0442 - Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (can be caused by gas cap or other leak)

So, now that we know bit 13 may have problems, it would be helpful if someone could investigate if turning off 14 and 15 are needed. I assume they are if the EVAP solenoid is unplugged. It would also be helpful if we could find a place to NOP the checks that run these like what was done for the O2 heater and/or EGR alternate disable bit (here https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...ml#post7272332 )

Fosty... I can tell you if you use mrfreds egr disable routine on the v7 you have to also disable FCA bit 15, I did it today and got a P403 code. Also after I disabled the EGR routine and those bits I had to readjust the SAS cause it bumped my idle up about 400 rpm... wierd...

Freddie....I did the exact same thing...same result as you.

Upon removal of the EVAP and EGR stuff my car had codes P0505, P0453, and P0403.

The following were disabled....

Table
EGR System Enable/Disable....changed from 1 to 0

Periphery FAA bit 11 (Disable EGR . Enable Ign Adv) set to 1
Periphery FAA bit 9 (enable warmup ign retard) set to 0

Periphery FCA bit 15 (P0443, P0446, P0403, P0243, P0090, P2263) set to 0
Periphery FCA bit 14 (P0450, P0451, P0452, P0453 Evap) set to 0
Periphery FCA bit 13 (P0441, P0442 Evap) set to 0
Periphery FCA bit 10 (P1400 MAP sensor) set to 0
Periphery FCA bit 9 (P0401 EGR Test) set to 0

Periphery FEA bit 14 (P0069 MAP vs Baro) set to 0

The codes are, of course gone now because of disableing the bits. Unfortunatly the cold idle issue has risen its head, as has a bit of throttle hang.

I think we need to dive deeper into the periphery bits to ensure that these bits don't affect something else, thus causing adverse conditions.

Re-enable FAA Bit 11. This bit was replaced by EGR System Enable/Disable....changed from 1 to 0.

has any1 noticed that when you disable FCA bit. 13, 14, 15, in ecuflash (IX Rom 88590715)
it changes periphery 2hex from EDDF, to 0DDF. Is this normal? I have disabled all the bits manually. I tried using 0x0001 (once al of the other bits were disabled manually, besides 13,14,15), and it disabled bits. 13, 14, and 15, and 11,10,8,7,6,4,3,2,1,0.

So my question is, should I leave it as 0DDF, or should I set it as 0001, and change the rest of the bits back, or leave the rest of the bits disabled?

as fixem said re-enable FAA bit. 11 That jacks up cold start.
