Apparently these are the bizz.
Do I need to get the "lower seal kit" as well?
Will they go into a stock fuel rail ok?
Anything else I need to worry about?

haha tephra! I'm getting these as well. They have the best spray pattern on the market, and are big enough to support the level most of us run our evos at. I plan on peaking around 55% IDC on pump gas and 75% on E85.
No such thing as 'too large' of an injector until you start requesting an IPW that is less than the injector can provide. 1050's won't do this, but 1600's sometime have trouble idling for this reason.
They will fit the stock fuel rail just fine.
Replace any seals you can with new ones, just to be safe.
These should be good for ~450whp on E85 and about 700whp on gas/race gas
Double pump possibly required for the top end of that spectrum.

The stock computer by itself doesnt seem able to correct for injectors much larger than that on gasoline. On E85 we have done 1200s with the stock computer with no issues. On gasoline the same car was 10.9 at full lean WOT.
I like Delphi 850's over 950's for street cars, the 850's are roughly equivalent due to the reduced dead times, they run about the same DC's at the same flows and are easier to tune for driveability.
The spray pattern on these and the nice flow rate makes them a great injector. I have sold a ton of them, people have had an easy time dialing them as well. They almost dial like an 850 minus the scaling.

A peak & hold injector driver like the FJO or AEM injector driver would probably help with really large injectors and the stock ECU. Peak & hold injector drivers would reduce the latency considerably.

I will get these, but I have promised myself (and my missus) that I will pay off a chunk of my home loan before spending any more on the car

A lot has to do with the spray pattern and injector design. With larger injectors, its hard to achieve consistent results with such small injector pulses at low RPM. Some combat the problem by using an adjustable FPR and lowering the static fuel pressure from the stock 43psi to around 35psi which would probably help with 1200cc+ injectors if you have the headroom to sacrifice. This allows a longer IPW at idle to achieve the same amount of fuel delivery. I'm really not sure why the stock ECU would be less adequate at controlling larger injectors than a stand-alone would but I'm sure someone might chime in about that. I've known quite a few evo owners and DSM owners with 1000cc+ injectors whose cars idle just fine, possibly with a slightly higher idle.

The Evo injector driver system (saturated driver, but with low-Z injectors and a resistor in series) does not produce as consistent of an injector response as a peak & hold system. This would cause less consistent idle. Could even have an effect across the range of IPW values, e.g., more knock prone due to more random fluctuation in IPW values leading to random slightly leaner mixtures.
The scaling limitation appears to be the largest drawback, especially for a large turbo car that is going to use both 93 octane and E85.
