I am tending to believe it is an AFR correction, not a target AFR. The scale address is correct, but without further testing on it I cant tell if the rpm scaling is correct. It looks a little like the map is used as a starting point for the process based on the rpm where you cross the activation load point. That fact that they use this system makes me wonder what issues they had doing the original tuning of the evos. The process could have been achieved using other methods, but then again we were all never meant to be in here playing so having this all make sense was not part of the Mitsu engineers goals. The whole Lean Spool idea seems more related to emissions compliance than to performance.

Thanks for that mate.

As for the ALS, good to know everything is there then

I am amazed there are no other big tables in there hiding away though (Ralliart are tight gits)

Tbh the 90550001 rom is very very similar to the 98640014 (everything copies over pretty much 100%).

Hey, seeing as there are some Airtrek guys here, was there a manual trans version of the Airtrek? If so can I get the ROM number? The GT-A is so very different from other Evo's it is difficult to compare the two, but if there is an Airtrek manual version I can maybe compare it to the auto and see if I can pick out the auto trans maps.

During testing around a month ago I may have stumbled by accident onto one of the auto maps. I thought I was adjusting something else, but instead it changed the shift feeling. I immediately flashed back in the backup map and forgot about it. I might do some more testing over the weekend and see if I can track it down again. If I find one, there is a good chance I can find the others.

From comparing the tuning between 98640014 and 90550001 there is not a great deal of difference. It just looks like 9055 has the extended load range to 300, and a little extra ignition timing in the low rpm area. Otherwise it appears to be just a more finely tuned 9864. Strange heh!

Have you looked at 98650014

I was sent this rom, as a rom from an unknown mitsi vehicle with an evo engine in it.

Now I don't know if that is an Airtek turbo or not, i'm afraid.

But what I do know, is I bought a used evo 7 ecu and that had the same rom in it.

So it's 100% an evo rom and I am guessing there must be something updated from 98640014

Mattjin,

Both NA auto 4 speed and turbo has the same GTA setup 5 speed tiptronic. However, the new Outlander Turbo launched in Europe last year has manual gearbox with a different ECU setup.

Yeap, definitely 1 manual airtrek converted here, guess the one and only in KL. He's been with me for the past 1 year but he gone beyond ecuflash. He's running stock ecu with haltech e6x as piggy back, put on evo7 gear console and gearbox. He's stick to stock ecu just to control the basic sensors... while the piggy control timing/fuel.

same here mate, my stock e7 is 98640014 and I switch to 90550001 for it's extreme features (except NTLS). If I'm not mistaken, Barry or mrfred have an update version for 98640015 xml out there.

The version number might just be a region difference. So it might have minor changes to incorporate local laws.

I have a ROM from 98650014. I might take a quick look and see what is different.

But yeah, I too was very surprised that there were very few 3D maps. Just alot of 2D's and even then not as many as the GT-A. I am slowly working through them all one by one.

When I pulled that rom off my spare ecu, I couldn't open it, so I just copied the def for 98640014 and renamed it.

But everything looks exactly the same

Got another map for 90550001 to keep you busy. The Cranking enrichment map as per Mr Fred's thread.

<scaling name="IPW mcsec" units="mcSec" toexpr="x*432/1000" frexpr="x/432*1000" format="%.0f" min="0" max="255" inc="1" storagetype="uint8" endian="big"/>

<table name="Fuel Cranking Injection Pulse Width" category="Fuel" address="39c0" type="2D" level="3" scaling="IPW mcsec">
<table name="Engine Temp" address="511e" type="X Axis" elements="11" scaling="Temp"/>
</table>
