Looks like the number difference between lean spool enable and disable is about 1 point.
By the time it would reach 2500 rpm (lean spool activate point) it would already be over that load, so I don't think it would affect that area of the map. I start my pulls at 2500-3000 and never see it

This is the biggest advantage, in my book, of turning it off.

lean spool is a definate must, i did it cause everyone said it was more consistent and you really dont understand that untill your trying to tune over the course of a few days and it doesnt change from day to day like crazy

i herd that the new version of ecuflash is gunna have that as a feature (disable lean spool)

By looking at the stock fuel maps of an EVO 8 it looks like lean spool does not happen at the same RPM at all loads. It is close to 2500 rpm for higer loads (higher than 160) and it apperas to occurs at higher rpms at lower loads (70~160). It doesnt look like its doing anything for a really low loads (less than 70). In addition the transition point in the low octane map appear to be about 50 rpm sooner. Have anyone notice this. It is clearly seen by looking at the stock fuel maps.

So generally speaking you add 1 full AFR point to the fuel map when you disable lean spool?

I want to try disabling lean spool on my car and I do not want to log the car pig rich. Adding 1 full AFR point should get me close and then I can fine tune it from their. Correct?

Back to back runs, leanspool on and leanspool off.

Nothing was changed in the tune.
