Wow that is a lot of info, lol.
At first we need to make setting up evoscan & ecuflash and implimenting tephra rom and other patches a priority as they are the largest and most important subjects.

I'll give my 2 cents.
The fact that you have to search and find all these things is kind of like a "rite of passage". Some people really shouldn't be messing with their own ECU. If you have the fortitude to find everything then I think you have the fortitude to not blow your own car sky high.

That is true. Most of us who contribute to this forum already know all of this stuff. Should it all just be handed to those who aren't so up-to-date?
I know this kind of came about because Ted suggested it. Ted knows his stuff ... I can promise you that. But, he's super busy and keeping up with ECUFlash isn't on his priority list I'm sure, so it's annoying for him to have to search and figure out this stuff sometimes.
Is Ted a rare case in this instance? Should we really go through all of the trouble to put all of this on a platter? When it comes down to it, the info is all here and everyone here is helpful in finding the data you need to know.
I could go either way ... it would be nice to have it all in one place and explained clearly, but the "rite of passage" thing is a good point.

A few thoughts from a frequent lurker:
Rites of Passage are how groups keep people out and perpetuate elitism.
If someone is too stupid to not blow up their car, it isn't our job to protect them, they'll blow it up sooner or later with or without our help.
The difficulty in finding COMPLETE information means a non-idiot might just miss an all important caveat that keeps them from blowing up their car. By having ALL the critical information in one place means we're unlikely to hear about a newbie's sob story because they were unlucky enough to miss something critical.
I know I'm pretty much a no buddy here but I've lurked quite a bit doing my research and am not new to online tuning forums. A wiki of well documented tips tricks and tweaks will go a long way to taking evolutionm.net to the next level and avoid the never ending repeat questions.
Think of the wiki as the next evolution of well moderated/edited stickie posts in a format making it easier to create.

i somewhat agree with RL, this stuff isn't for kids and if you get it wrong there is a real risk of doing physical damage to your car.
maybe make a note of that in the wiki
otherwise wiki is a great idea

The wiki will have all sorts of disclaimers, lol.
But I think it is still worth going forward with the idea. Even if most of us know this stuff, what if there are a couple things we don't know or missed while we were on vacation, lol.
Maybe the wiki doesn't need to give step by step instructions for super-noobs. But it should at least be a place to list all of the rom mods and other info that is out there in one concise place.

tephra - now that we have you here, are you on board for having standard rom version for each ECU type. Malibu already expressed his enthusiasm for the idea.
It should be less work for you in having to learn each and every rom version.

you can freely use my patching utility (TinyPatcher) to apply your patches to the mitsu roms. It only needs a diff file!
I'd like to echo jumperalex's comment. Sporadic Ecuflashers are left in the dust, even the sharp ones. A wiki is a great idea which will increase the quantity (and hopefully the quality too) of people using these tuning tools and feeding back into the process.
As an aside, what you guys (mrfred, tephra, jcsbanks, tb, rl, et al) do is simply astonishing and I'm grateful.

I would like to see in the wiki a standards set of downloadable xml's for each of the different ROM's out there. I find that as I am playing with more and more different year/car/ROM's, it takes me longer to set up the xml that it does to tune the actual car. But, I know where to find most of the information as I have been here for quite awhile.
It would be really nice to see a local place with the stored xml's for all the popular ROM's out there that are maintained maybe by one specific thread/person. (Store it in a thread so we can post findings/issues etc. with the xml for tracking purposes.
