Urgent: USDM EVO8 Doesn't Start anymore, help needed please

Hello guys,

yesterday I was tunning my friends EVO7 european spec using tactrix 1.3U cable and ECUflash 1.38, everything went well, after we were done, another friend asked to tune his USDM import EVO8, so I read the stock rom off his car, modified some fuel, timing, boost tables and then flashed back, everything was going as normal so far, till we tried to start the car and it didnt start, so I went into ECUEdit and tried to access logger and it said "ECU no response", I flashed back stock rom and still pbm was not solved, the stock ECU ID#MN132874 RomID # 94170014

so I said ok, I have an ECU that I bought off ebay, ECU # MN132874 and RomID: 94170008 so I swapped ECUs, and went into logger and the ebay ECU worked fine, tried to start car it did not start, I said ok since it has different Immo code, so I copied the immo code from stock ECU to ebay ECU and flashed. and the same problem happened, logger can't access ECU anymore, diagnostic tool cant find ECU, and car doesnt start. I can read rom and write rom, but nothing else does work? what should I do?

Kind Regards
Billy

Try flashing the stock ROM you got at the start over the new ECU.

You are using ecuflash and evoscan yeah? whats ecuedit??

I tried flashing stock file over both ECUs and pbm was not solved, ECUedit is from Epifan, I tried reflashing with ecuflash and with ecuedit also with romraider and with the 1st 2 programs I succeeded in reflash but car doesn't start, with the last program it said "ECU definition not found" basically coz its a Sube based program.
do you think I should reflash the EVO7 rom everybody use when they buy an EVO8 ECU?? is my pbm an Immo blocked ECU?
thank you

Just use EcuFlash - not sure why your trying other ones.

What happens when you flash the ROM that you originally downloaded from the car?

Did the car turn over? start then cut out?

i would have to say you're getting some corruption during the flash or an even simpler problem. could be flakey usb ports on your computer or a bad tactrix cable. try another computer with a fresh ecuflash install and no other usb peripherals. also, verify the immobilizer code and if the code somehow got forgotten, search here for the immobilizer disable 'FAA' periphery bit, disable, and try again (do this anyways if possible).

can you verify to us here that ecuflash is completing it's flash by posting the verbose info it gives/or double checking? also, what year is the evo8?

good luck.

I did use ECUflash, it didnt work (I mean car didnt start) thats why I used the others I wasnt sure pbm was ECUflash or something else.

No, the car doesnt start, I check every fuse and all are well, when I crank it, it just cranks doesnt start. and when I flashed stock file back or any file, it doesn't show any error messages, it shows that everything went as it should.

thank you

well minutes before I flashed the EVO8 I have been tunning an EVO7 for 2hrs and had no pbms at all, anyway this is what I got when I flashed the stock rom back to ECU and asked to compare file with ECU

Basically all what I did was tunned the fuel and ignition tables and flashed back, then with the Ebay ECU I only changed Immo code and flashed back, but in both cases car doesnt work now :-(
Thank you

disable the immobilizer bit and try again. use tephra's clean rom from this site and ecuflash again first though if you are sure about the immobilizer code. something about ecuedit's read image scares me.

by disable Immo bits you mean to set it to FFFF? I doubt ecuedit is the pbm, since you can check the stock rom I attached using ECUflash and everything seems pretty normal.

noooooo. use 94170015.

EDIT:
i couldn't remeber either! i had periphery excel sheets open and then forgot which is bit 0 and which is 15. then i got my calculator out and punched in 56d2-->bin and matched all the 1's and 0's and concluded its bit 3. so...

if you do the 1.35 and above ecuflash periphery xml mod, set FAA bit 3 (remember 3 is the fourth number lol) to '0'

if you do just the FAA hex input xml mod, enter in '56D2'
