Question ECU Swap & Immobiliser Code Issues

this one is goona be long!

i have a JDM 2006 Evo IX GSR.

when i got the car i used a Evo IX GT ECU (long story) rom id - 89980000

however, because of the very few GTs a definition file was written for this rom. this caused all kinda probelms in the maps. e.g. no rev limit and random timing values

as a result, i swapped ECUs to a EVO IX JDM GSR ECU in order to get the car up and running properly. rom id - 89280002.

well the car did not start (as expected) because of the different immobiliser codes. as a result i flashed my old GT rom back onto the new ECU (8998000).

the car is starting no probelsm but i am back to getting the same problems of no rev limit, etc.

can anyone assist in changing the immo codes for me. i tried it but the car still wont start with the 89280002 rom!

i just want my stock map so i can start tuning.

Thanks in advance

Why oh god do people think that putting FFFF in the immobilizer code it will magically disable it?

You have to edit the ECU periphery and disable bit 3..

You know how to edit your rom.xml file to add a table?

<table name="(periphery 0)" category="Misc" address="faa" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Hex16"/>

Stock should be 56DA

Change to 56D2

now its sounds like chinese....

i have no clue how to change xml files. so ur saying, go into 89280002 xml file and just add in:

<table name="(periphery 0)" category="Misc" address="faa" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Hex16"/>
then change a value from 56DA to 56D2?

what will be the outcome?

my tuner made the GT rom (did not turn out too well)

Yes add the table definition into the xml file.

What the code does is disables the immobilizer unit so ANY key can start the car. If thats really your issue the code will fix it.

btw enter the value in with a leading 0x so

0x56D2

Just add it at the very bottom but before it says "</rom>" it needs to be above that block.

What?

Not changing the immobilizer code.

There should be a new spot under Misc named "(periphery 0)"

Change that value to 0x56d2
