fed up with knock control
It would be a great feature. I even see 1* timing pulled for 1KS also. I don't know what the ecu is instructed to do, but it must be pretty complex and lots of variables must be taken into account.
Keep it easy on yourself, tephra.
Just disable knock below certain load and/or PRM. It would be nice to log the real knock count, but it shouldn't matter anyway, because you will simply be logging your phantom knock.
DSMLink did this simply by disabling the knock sensor below a certain TPS and RPM. IIRC, no knock counts would be logged.

Maybe the knock your getting isnt filtered enough due to lack of background noise in area.
Attach a brass pipe to block and attach a stethascope to it so you can hear while driving. You will hear it for sure then if it's there

Here's what my car is doing: false knock anywhere from 4 count to 30 count starting as early as 3000 but mostly right at 3500rpm < 140kpa since my 35R isn't making but 10psi at that time. Once that starts it continues until I lift off the gas so timing gets yanked down to nothing and the car all but refuses to move, it's pretty terrible sometimes. If I start my pull at 4000rpm, I never have this problem at all. So for me I'd like the ability to ignore knock under 4000rpm, the load doesn't matter to me.
This is the most important thing to me:
Disable the knock sensor at a specified RPM range
The rest is icing on the cake:
Keep the ability to log knock sum
Disable the knock sensor at a specified RPM range AND load
Lessen the knock sensitivity per RPM range AND load
Timing retard ceiling as Razorlab mentioned...IE: ignore knock under 6 count (user adjustable)

+1
Oh heck yes, I am all about this. Having false knock occur in the 3K-3.5K range during a pull and then sticking around for the entire pull is so annoying. I'm game for any improvements you guys decide upon here. +10!

This is what I need!
although i havent fabbed up some det cans, im sure that i would be able to hear the 36 counts of knock that happen at light load if it was actually happening
Had a Evo on the dyno today with a 2.3L with JE pistons, etc Still had balance shafts though
Had blips of 30-36 counts knock at random moments. Obviously not real knock or I would have heard it (I can usually hear 15-20+)
Couldn't tune it.

Were the knock counts usually below 3500 rpm?
