Good to know. Kinda always wished mine would be at 0% below "min load for boost control".

That table would be awesome but I don't have that one in my ECUflash. I have the min. Temp table but thats it. Anyone know the code for that table for 94170015???

EDIT: I found MrFreds Boost Tables thread stating that my rom doesn't have this feature....damnit! I'm sick of hearing my BCS clicking away when I am at 3300rpm@75mph in 5th on the highway.

Does this mean there is no "minimum load for boost control" at all?

GM 3 port: $17.83(AC Delco part number 214-474)
GM pigtails for $15.40 (AC Delco part number PT 374)
Don't bother buying the pigtail from GM, its a ripoff. The GM solenoid uses standard wether-pak connectors. You can easily buy the part to build the connector youself for a couple bucks.

MrFred--you mention running the resistors in series, to me thats suggests more then one? But in later posts it seems that there is just one resistor used. Just trying to clarify that I need just 1 resistor be it 1, 5 or 10 ohm.. and I can splice that into either wire.. thx for the clarification-- sorry if its elementary. Electricity and I don't get along well.

I think we are all in agreement after MrFreds testing that this is the best route to take:

Its not as easy to locally find a single 5 ohm/2 watt resistor so this is the easiest and most readily available solution I think.

So, should I be using a resistor with my Perrin setup?

I think those solenoids have a resistance of around 32 ohms, so they should be fine with no resistor.

I'm making assumptions based on your data, but it seems that a 3-post solenoid that doesn't require a resistor might respond as well as the GM solenoid.
Its kinda hard to say how well it respond based on solenoid resistance. I'm pretty sure that the Perrin solenoid is just a MAC or Ingersoll Rand solenoid, and I think there are people sending both of those to me.

I've done a bunch more tests on different boost line configurations. Hoping to have time to post the results in a day or so.

Hey Mrfred, I have both a AEM MAC solenoid and a perrin EBCS that I can shoot you to test, if the others fall through.

If you don't mind sending them, it might be the way to go as I'll have to permanently wrap up the BCS testing soon and there will be no further chance to test. I'll PM you with my addy if you are game.

Absolutely. I will have to go pick up the EBCS from someone, but I can send the MAC solenoid out tomorrow.

Are you on the Stock BCS? that thing is LOUD....
I thought it was a lifter or start of a spun bearing, but after a few days of checking stuff I figured my BCS was going, but now it all makes perfect sense....
is there any way that a patch could fix this?

I 'think' he is on a 3 port GM solenoid, Brandon.

I've used GM boost valves on Motec systems over here, they sure are "ticky".
So much so, we normaly soft mount them and slip a section of plumbers hot water pipe neoprene tube over them as well. It helps a bit.
Prefer MAC valves, quiet and work well.
