COP alternative?

I saw somewhere on here someone posted a thread where he found OE parts (coils etc) that would work with the stock ecu and was a budget COP setup. I've just looked for that thread for an hour. Do any of you recall seeing it and possibly have it bookmarked? I think he had part numbers and everything. Someone trying to help me out?

Yes I read that post also

I do know that some are using the Chrysler 300m coil. I believe I might have copied the other guy though that was using two GM coils with similar resistance to stock and mounting external coils and then using conventional wires. I will look although no guarantees

I read in turbo or d-sport magazine about a mirage with an evo drivetrain that was running the 300m coils just the other day. It definitely caught my attention when I browsed through the article.

DLI is an ignition amplifier, not a capacitor discharge unit. Big difference in spark.

Actually the HKS DLi is both a CDI (at low RPM) and a transistor type ignition. Multiple sparks during low RPM high load situations and transistor type ignition amplification at High RPM.

Yes the HKS DLi can be rewired to control a COP system however it will still be a wasted spark system. Nothing wrong with that except the dwell time between the ignition cycles is effectively cut in half compared to a true individual fire COP system. Seems to work for a lot of people making big numbers though so who am I to fight what works and try to reinvent the wheel.
