That seems a bit lean for hot lapping?

How does a piston disappear? I mean metal doesn't evaporate does it?

I'm guessing he hasn't taken the oil pan off yet When my engine let go all I found was half the rod and the wrist pin, piston was in a bunch of pieces.

Because preignition is not an acoustically active event like end-gas detonation. There is no ping or knock just destruction.

[QUOTE=razorlab;6366748]That seems a bit lean for hot lapping?

I've come to that understanding now.

For several years I've been there or close without issues, this time I went leaner still when I didn't log after installing a test pipe.

English Racing replaced the motor, John Bradley has a picture or two, I think some of you have seen already.

I may of misunderstood, the piston wasn't there is what I got. It may very well be they meant the piston wasn't in the hole.

In a related note some people noted that the boost pressure was in the twenties when the throttle was at 50%.

How do people with aftermarket boost controllers limit early high boost pressures?

I have the boost hoses set up interrupt style, is that part of the issue?
