SCC aka Spark Control Computer(HWID) at F8A - discussion
I guess this question goes to those that have replaced the ROMs in their ECUs.
Did anyone changed ROM that had different HW-ID assuming ROM size is the same?
My goal here is to gain some insight on what ROM-ID can be flashed to what HW-ID.
Maybe one can get cheaper ECU from low-end models and use it with EVO.
Maybe collection of experimental data will show up some patterns.

I should read the title of the topic AND understand it!!!!! :-) :-)
EDIT:
I flashed:
90550001 (HWID:E4B5) on 9339000 (HWID:E4B6)
It works, i can't see any problems.

I found out I actually had a 2003 ecu the original id was 98950009. I have used 94170008 and 94170015, the only OBD codes I got were for the fuel pump relay and wastegate soleniod which were easily corrected via ecu perephery.
