You dont need to uninstall it.

BUT I probably would manually uninstall ecuflash AS WELL AS any tactrix drivers (seperate uninstall item)

And then install the new version!

ps - what version do you have now? If you have manually changed the XML's with your current version you might find you need to make these changes again.

I have version 1.40 now. I haven't modified it in any way. So what do you suggest?

in that case you should be fine just to install the new version.

However there probably wont be many changes (except for the ones listed) most of the useful stuff is definition based anyways

good luck!

Do i save directly over the current one? Or save it in addition to it?

When you install the new version it *should* backup your xml's automatically then overwrite the application.

Thank you! I got it. I just didn't want to have two programs interferring with each other.

I usually just append a version # to the current 'ecuflash' (IE ecuflash_1.35') install folder before upgrading. That way the worst case is I can just open up the old install. (If I'm having trouble with defs or don't have time to fix them it is a good way to not be "stuck")

The only time I've run into problems with drivers is after a partial driver upgrade. I then had multiple drivers that I just had to remove all of and re-install the driver package.
