Unhappy HELP... my car stalls at stop

Need some help....
I re-tuned my car to solve some issues after installing PTE 1000cc injectors with my 35R setup, and VTA BOV... I know that for the 2003 EVO (my car) the VTA is a real issue, but I kind of fine tune it except for the problem described bellow....
"(this is a copy of some other guy post, but his problem was with the AC... I have no problem with my AC)"
Here is what happens, car runs fine at cruising speeds ,,,

However, sometimes when I press clutch in and come to a stop the rpms drop to low and it stalls out... sometimes will making slow turns off roads which isn't good cuz the power steering.

If I ease at a light and stay in gear until I come to almost a complete stop its good, it seems it does it mostly when I see a red light push in clutch and quickly stop or when I do this and make a turn.

if anyone can point me in the direction in ecu flash to correct this I'd really be appreciate it.

Thanks...

IF you're running your stock MAF sensor then you'll have that problem when using the VTA BOV.

You will need to go to a GM blowthrough MAF with MAF translator, or get a standalone ECU. There is some talk circulating on this forum about Speed Density with the stock ECU. I requires a JDM 3 bar MAP sensor, GM IAT sensor put in your UICP, and some rom mods. Here is the link..

As for now, it will continue to stall until you recirculate the blowoff valve..

what ecu does your car have if you know? i think its usdm/but not sure. let me know. i recently removed my MAP to MAF clipping patches, but they do work/does not require another MAP/IAT/etc.

i have a friend with a stock turbo'd 8 with all sorts of ic piping/intake/and a VTA HKS which he insists on running. I applied my patch to his car and it actually doesn't stall at all/runs great.

i would suggest a mechanical fix first, then go to other options.

Increase ICSV steps by 5-7 in 77C and 82C cells in the table used for when A/C is off.

If you are moving the car should be in gear anyway

I believe there is also a "target idle while in gear" that you may be able to modify or make fit via conditions.

Hey now that you mention, I went out to lunch and turn the A/C on (was hot outside)..... and for my surprise, it doesn't do it that much with the A/C on..!!!

So I will try this fix and let you know later.

Thanks a lot.

I must say that I have a USDM ECU, since every new car here in PR comes directly from the US (nowhere else).
Your help is must welcome.
Thanks,

Well searching in the backup file of my missing brain I just recall that I have the S-AFC2 installed... I will try to set the Deceleration Air Flow Correction to see what happens..!!

Thanks for the very good info...

I have a recirculated greddy bov (with proper fitting) and it still stalls always!! stock bov is best way to go without problems imo
