Internal Id Numbers

I did a search but I can not find a clear answer. I see alot of poeple refering to the internal ID numbers the one my car came with was 94170008, I reflashed it with a ROM with internal id number 94170015. My car seemed to run fine, is it ok to flash in ROMS with different internal id numbers?

I wouldn't do it..
If anything, I would think some of the parameters or xmls would have to be changed.
But I'm sure all the experts will chime in and let ya know.

From what I can gather, you can do it, but some stuff has to be changed.

Certain roms are more or less interchangeable and many people have done it with no issues so far.

I personally wouldn't do it unless the new rom had a feature/solved a problem that i needed taken care of.

Basically I downloaded this rom from aktivematrix.com because it had the po300 misfire code fix in it. I havnt had a check engine light since I did the reflash, but I wanted to make sure it was ok to have this Rom before I went and had a tune done. The only difference I noticed is I hit fuel cut with this rom because I think it is stock.

Stradag - you need to copy any of your tuned maps across when you do it
