I run at 38400 so I can log with my Pocket PC. It is faster. Really it produces too much data in a short drive though. The logging rate speeds up if you turn off the map tracing - does about 35 rows of 64 items each per second at 38400 baud.

Just a little update on the Idle problem I had..

Foolish mistake on my part, after rescaling Load in the Ign & Fuel maps I somehow skipped over making changes in the columns in the Cold start Ign. Map @ 61c9...Idles @ 1500RPM now when dead cold.

Just curious as to your after values.

BTW, I was planning on testing this weekend as well, but didn't get a chance yet. Right now, I am getting John's 9653006 livemap ROM all set to how I want it, with acamus' OBD patch, mrfred's MAT patch, etc. Once I get all of my tables copied over and ROM setup how I want it, I will wire in a switch for the alt-map (I plan on using the 5V output from my SSi4 or from the ECU).

So, I will eventually test this...just have some work to do first. It looks like several have tested fine already though, so that's good to hear.

As always, thanks again, John.

Not sure what you're asking...

Are you asking what the timing values were when it idled high compared to after.

Yes. I just asked for the 'after' values meaning the values that you changed to, to resolve the high idle issue. I am assuming the 'before' values were just what we all see as the stock setting, so I didn't ask for them.

The before values were stock, somehow I completely skipped over this table when copying maps over. My load scaling goes as such..10,40,50,60,70,90, etc. So I just made the appropriate column adj. to get the timing reterded in the right areas.

lol, so with the stock values in the map it was around 24*

Glad you found the solution

Now if only I could get really smooth and fast graph scrolling to go with all the data the ECU chucks out - Dundas and MS Chart can't keep up even using the fast line modes, even Evoscan's MUT logging overwhelms Dundas' ability to keep up Things run really fast until you switch to the graph view and it updates slowly, click away and click back again and you've added lots to the graph. I want Amiga scrolling

Thanks gear head...that answers my question.

I have another question for all of you that have switched from 96940011 to 96530006:

Have you guys changed all of the periphery bits in 96530006 to match what was in 96940011? If not, have you changed any? If not, have you received any CELs or weird occurences? If so, same questions.

I know we don't know what many of the bits do yet, but I would assume that we would want the same functionality as we had in the 96940011 ROM. For example, if you disable the rear 02 sensor via the periphery, then you are not only disabling the CEL for cat efficiency, etc, but you are also disabling the sensor heater, which will damage the sensor once the car is started and run. In this example, that probably doesn't matter, since we have a patch for the CEL and readiness tests, but I was just thinking about how this would apply to other hardware differences between the two ROMs, such as EGR, evaporitve emissions solenoids etc (actually I think mrfred commented on this one before, that it will stay open when disabled), but you get my point.

So, what are you guys doing with the bits when converting ROMs?

Thanks,
Eric

I have left the bits alone except for the ones I have made changes to for other reasons.
The Immo. is now working via periphery7(just change the first word in the table to match what is in the 96940011) & I do have the EGR disabled as part of the Direct Boost patch as well as Lean Spool.
You may get a PO505, seems like some get it & some don't, It' an easy adj. to the BISS to get rid of it

Anyone seeing any problems with logging where you get a "read_result x" where x is a number error after 5 minutes of logging? A 96260009 user in Australia is getting this, and I don't know why.

How much logging have people done with this so far to know how reliable the comms are?

I haven't really drove the car much since installing the patch, but I made a log about 10 min long the other day & all was good

I copied my fuel, timing, and Boost control tables over to this ROM, added a few patches, and flashed it over and am up and running. I still need to make an altmap harness so I can switch over to the Live ECU stuff but at least I have fast logging. I hope to get it hooked up this weekend.

I did a log today on my way home from work, seems to work great!

One thing I noticed was my idle was much lower than before, I only copied over the "Desired Idle RPM tables over" but I didn't reset the ECU, I guess I should...

Other note, I didn't see the latency comp table in the ALTmap, so is that not available in Live ECU? or can it be mapped?

oh Last thing, Thanks John!
