I may not know exactly what it is called, but I am looking for a quick how to on setting my launch boost, so when I am idling at the line. I have heard you can set it to any RPM for the the launch. Supposedly when you hold the clutch, push the pettle, it revs to a certain amount, and the rev limiter sets in and holds it so you can build boost?

Someone straighten me out please, oh, and where do I set it in the ECU?

You will need to get it flashed in order to do that or you can buy the cable and ecu flash and do it yourslf.

 

Yes, I am aware of this. I have the cable, and the software, just not sure where or what table it is in. Thank you but please clarify.

Doesn't sound like you want to mess with too much stuff in your ecu though......

 

oh and you can't really control the amount of boost it builds since there isn't any load really on the motor. You kind of just get what you get.....

 

Yeah proper term would be 2 step! And like kaymi said i wouldnt mess around with your ecu too much unless you really know what your doing!! Good luck to ya!!

 

yah, just wanted to set that is all. I am getting a tune soon, but need to make some adjustments currently. I am sure that any custom tune sets this correct?

What is a safe setting for this utilizing stock drive train but possible light weight fly, with ACT street clutch, 21 pounds of boost...?

thanks guys. wasn't sure if I needed to adjust this setting for parts, like the custom tune, or if it was a straight weight setting.

 

some of the guys around here have decreased timing in the rpm/load cells that you are in while on the 2-step and gained a pound or two. The most youre going to get is 15psi or so with the factory hardware.

Like aforementioned, you can decrease timing at the load cells where you're activating your two-step and that will allow for 3-5psi more than OE. Do some logging to figure out exactly where you're at.

 

I wouldn't worry too much about the two step hurting your car, it's that left foot and how hard you drop the clutch that could hurt it.

 

I've only two stepped hard twice and both of them were softer feeling on the drive train and pulled harder then regular launches i've done. I love 2 step.

Just hold the gas and pull the clutch out slowwww till you feel it engage, hold it there till you wanna launch and then let it out from there like you would a regular shift, not slow, not fast. I lit up my 265 tires yesterday and was totally not expecting it!
