Hey everyone,

I want to start learning about tuning. I been reading alot lately here but still have a LONG way to go. I recently purchased a the tactrix cable and just downloaded my map to my pc so I can just look around of what is what. I really doubt I will ever tune my own car but I would like to learn about all the features in EcuFlash and what they do.

Is there like a manual for EcuFlash? Something REALLY basic. I see there are probably 50+ different categories to make changes in the evo map and I have no idea what 95% of them do.

A good starting point is one of the stickies above in this forum. I think it's called 'How to tune an Evo'.

Don't be afraid to start learning. It's great to gain knowledge and know how to tune your car. Little by little and you'll get there. Just read up a lot and keep reading this forum.

I do have a REALLY dumb question, how do I know what ROM version I have? In ROM info, I have:
Internal ID: 88590014
Inhearits: 88590013



Also, is there something I can read about the different versions ROMS out there? Why does the 06 IX have so many different ones out there? etc?

Your internal ID is your current ROM number. The different number (13, 14, 15) are just updated ROMs I believe. You can flash/use any version of your ROM series. 15 is the most up to date and is the one most commonly used in the IX's.

I'm just going off of memory from all the stuff I've read. I can't remember anywhere specific that describes the differences in ROMs. Hope this helps some.
