again, everyone just jumped on david buschurs hate bandwagon, before looking at the facts
No HaterAid here. I was just speaking to the topic of shortcuts. Thats why I said it was a good read, just agreeing with some thoughts that are thrown out. Looks like everyone has a comment on this topic that could be taken out of context...

Just don't want to be known as a hater for offering my opinion on the OP's post.

I agree with Logic as well.

As logic said, Colby has taken a bit of a turn from the early days of ECU flashing. The cables are his source of revenue and current versions of ECUFlash will only work with cables built by Tactrix because the cables have a key in the firmware. However, if you want to use one of the open source logging tools, I see no reason why you shouldn't build your own cable if you want. There is an in-depth OP 1.x cable how-to on Clanzer's website (www.myrollingroad.com).

Just a question not an atttack

Why did you pay for EVOscan but you dont wanna pay for a cable?

You could have just made a loggin cable and used mitsulogger, as its free, if you didnt want to spend money.

Also, my opinion on the matter had to do more with trying to make a tactrix cable and using ECUflash, then just logging. But I also still feel that even for logggin, you should just buy the cable, so those people have more money to come up with new cables and versions of programs.

cause i dont like mitsulogger and ive had evoscan for quite a while now, i didnt just buy it yesterday or something. evoscan is a lot easier to use and i like the graphing feature of it

i already said i dont think i can make the cable, but people have been pming me cables that work and are very cheap. so i will go that way it looks like

If you like a little electronics project, it might be fun to build your own cable, but if you are like many of the other people on the site who are pretty busy, it may be time better spent if you buy a cable that is not keyed for ECUFlash. They are only $57 on the EvoScan website.

EVOjoe, don't turn around the original thread to make me look like a hater. I said in your thread I didn't think what you were doing was a good thing, I still don't. You then came back nasty and said basically you couldn't care less what I thought and you were going to make the cable. Based on that I made this thread to help protect the guys putting the hard work into it. Hater aid? Not me, that is the opposite, I am giving respect to the guys putting in the hard work. Had you said that Colby has posted instructions on his site in the first place in YOUR thread with the link I'd have then stood corrected and not bothered but that is not the approach you took.

Anyone climbing down Colby's throat (I do not know him at all) for charging for the cables regardless of his original intentions has obviously not had to pay for any real tuning software.

Those crooks at C*** charged me $2500 for Pro Tuning software for the Subaru, the support sucked, the product sucked and it ended up smashed into a few hundred pieces and returned in a zip lock bag.

The old Techtom software was $4500. Ecutek big money too.

I'm so freaking grateful for Colby, Tephra, Mr Fred, Jack of Trades, evo4mad and everyone else I am forgetting I just get pissed off when it seems they are being disrespected.

Just my view point. We all have one.

i in no way meant to disrespect any of those guys. they do great things with evo tuning and programs

your right we all do have a point dave. i see where you are coming from
i didnt mean to call you a hater, i was directing that to the people jumping down my throat after your posts. you always get them guys that have no idea what they are talking about and they see a reputable guy(yourself) posting and they just follow along but really have no idea whats going on. that stuff just gets annoying

like i said, i have a lot of respect for you and buschur racing and if anything i said came off wrong. i apologize. we all have them bad days. no hard feelings dude?

Why is it ok for some folks to charge what they want for something and others its not? What about their hard work, blood, sweat, and tears?

Hey joe, david made the same point I was trying to make. I just felt like you were disrespecting all those guys hard work.

If you were made that comment towards me, just know what I said and expressed was not because of David at all. I have been in the ECUflash forums since the beginning and just felt like I said above.

(fyi, DB just started gettin into the ECUflash stuff and such. Not to talk crap on him, just informing you.)

I think we understand that you didnt mean to be disrespectful or anything. I think it was just a big miscommunication.
