Excellent work guys....

One question.
I downloaded number 4 of Phenem's modified Roms.

Since the default is now set to PSI based boost, how do I change back to load.?
This is what I see when I want to change over, doesn't seem right.

It seems there may be something missing there to make the switch over to Load?

Thx

This was later patched to reference the same load value that the timing/fuel maps use. This is what he is referring to as the "2 byte" boost control system. Although that's a bit misleading/incorrect. What he should have said is the "common load"or "standard load" boost control system. But yes, the values of this "common load" does match up with what we all came to know as "2 byte load" and that's the point.

As far as 2 byte vs. 1 byte... the difference is only for logging. They both reference the same value, as far as the ECU is concerned for the various maps and for the actual tune. 1 byte exists as a logging improvement only.
Yes thanks thats exactly what I mean. I just want to know what load it is based off of now, and if it is the standard load, can we just add mrfreds patch like normal so it will reference 2 byte?

Do i have to use 1 byte load or can I still use 2 byte load (for logging)?

Tephra will need to answer these questions. I am using psi based boost control without any issues so I am unsure...

Look at the table underneath that one and each table underneath that. They say in the description what the value should be if you want psi or load based....

Have the throttle hang issues been solved in this release? Do we need to modify the decel fuel cut and idle stepper look up tables?

For those who do not know what I am talking about the thread is here:

concerning psi or load based boost control:

its my interpretation that you go to the blued area under single turbo boost, where it says CHOOSE LOAD OR PSI .....

At this point there may be a better way but I would work back from the thread where MRfred showed how to implement psi based boost control.... reverting back to the designations that that thread changed from. Except now you would look to change from the 96530006 xml even if that was not your original xml.
Because its from that thread that the current entries come from.

OOOPS, its right there, just change the values to suit!

concerning 1 byte and two byte load reading, thats a nike thing, just try the rom, I think your worries are groundless.

I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer so take this post with a grain of salt.

wow, you totally overlooked that section,lol. you don't just CHECK OFF that box, that is just a 'label'. All of the tables below that 'label' need to be changed. In the parenthesis it tells you the value you need to enter for load OR psi based boost control. If you want load, change all of theose tables to the LOAD settings.

Thanks to all involved!
They can't 'wait' for their own rom because they haven't realized yet that the entire community has decided to only modify the 'universal' roms,so these ECU guru's don't have to do all of this work to a billion different roms (it's an insane amount of work). Most roms will NOT be on this list and you will have to convert to one that works with your vehicle.

USDM cars will basically have 2 rom's from now on;

96530006 for all USDM evo 8's
88590015 for all USDM evo 9's

Has anyone implemented the SD ROM yet? I had just started setting it up on another rom when V7 was released and starting from scratch again is a little overwhelming (it doesn't help that I have a hyperactive 3 year old hovering around my laptop right now). Before I get too deep into it, are all the setup steps essentially the same?

Also, does anyone have the MAP SENSOR maps for 96530006? That's actually required for PSI based boost control and will be necessary for this pre-patched setup.

Might I suggest adding the rear O2 sensor heater disable to this patch as well?

Code:
<table name="Rear O2 Heater Patch" category="Mods" address="2c62a" type="1D" scaling="Hex16" />
Open up the ROM, navigate to the "Mods" section, change "Rear O2 Heater Patch" from "4A0B" to "0009"

My rear O2 has been replaced with the wideband.

This might also work but I need to confirm the address!
Code:
<table name="Heater CEL" category="Rear O2" address="2c61e" type="2D" level="2" scaling="blobbits">
		<table name="Bit values" type="Static Y Axis" flipy="true" elements="8">
			N/A
			N/A
			N/A
			N/A
			Rear O2 Heater CEL Enable
			N/A
			N/A
			N/A
		</table>
	</table>

Been there for ages, was in v5.10 also. Look in the Tephra Mod Options Section to turn it on or off.
