How To: Speed Density on the evo8 using tephra v7/Phenem pre-patched roms
I seem to have a similar issue....or at leas I think.
Pre-SD I hit about 300 load at 24ish psi with about 11.4a/f. Trying to tune in the SD now, and was under the impression I would be able to replicated my load values and therefore have the same tune(a/f and timing).
With the in-boost mapve slightly raised over kpa I only hit about 260 load with lean a/f. Raise the values on the right side up about 50points, and I hit 270 load but pegged rich a/f.
This is with 100% rpmve in those areas.
Do I need to just retune my entire map by shifting it the appropriate amount, or is there something I'm missing?
EDIT: I was right, it was scaling. The basemap I started from had map16 selected for the mapve table. DUH!

Just wanted to stop in here and thank everybody who helped to make this possible. I just set up speed density on my car tonight and all I can say is wow. The car drives amazing. I never imagined the car would perform so well, I should have done this a long time ago. I noticed it as soon as I backed the car out of my driveway in reverse, no jerky crap trying to modulate the throttle at low speed. Amazing. Thanks again guys.
Also, it's just one little step after putting in a new MAP sensor to log boost, kind of like "why not, since I've come this far".
i just got an evo 8 and the guy before me had it running sd. my question is its running pretty rough and the afr's are all over the place. at idle its anywhere from 11-13 then cruising its from 14-16 and sometimes 17. what is the best way to go about fixing this problem. how are you tuning your fuel and timing maps and the SD RPM VE Table and SD MAP VE Table? plz help

you log, log some more and tweak the areas that need help...remember you can still modify your fuel map and timing map in problem areas.
You probably need to seek out a professional tuner.
i have been having some problems setting this up for the past week. I have my cruise, amazing. car run extremely smooth during cruise and a/f is dialed in. But my problem is. the second the car sees boost, it go VERY RICH. at only 4psi it is seeing loads of around 240-250? i have read a number of posts saying playing with the VE and RPM tables will effect load, but, i have taken away and add on the VE tables and i still get the same effect. could some1 give me some help?
I am having the same EXACT problem! Cruising is nice, AFRs are pretty good, (with the exception of the car running 18:1 AFR at particular load cells), but as soon as the car sees boost I'm pig rich and the car knocks. At this point, the AFRs are nowheres near what I have defined in my fuel tables. All consistency goes at that point. I should mention however that is at part throttle. If I wack it 100% it leans out a little bit in upper 10's
I would personally ditch that kpa load table start one to one. That has load below kpa until a couple psi then favors a lot of load. Even with one to one you will see load higher than your kpa. It's very deceiving and I went 3dsd so I did t have to fudge my fuel map. Dropping back to 1:1 kpa load was the best thing ever I did.
What's your map kpa table?
Are you tuning from scratch or do you have a maf tune you're trying ? Pm me alllll of your set up I'll see if I can help kick start ya
Are you opposed to 3dsd?
Little bit more time consuming but it is 10x more intuitive IMHO
