The only thing I can think of (not sure if this would cause it) is the throttle shaft seals. I know they are leaking, can this cause it?
I still get it as well, but only when it hasn't been started at all that day. If it is a tiny bit warm, then it will start and hold idle immediately just fine. I don't believe my shaft seals are leaking, or if they are I couldn't hear it or see it. I haven't tried to alleviate it much because it helps bring the car up to temp quicker so I don't have to wait too long.

Since I have my injectors scaled pretty good I have only one problem. When the engine is cold, I get very lean throttle tip in. I have to rev the car high before going into first, and any other gear. I am also getting rich tip in, once warm as I sometimes shoot a little flame or pop although my afr's are 13-12.5 on low boost tip in (e70/85). The flame/pop happens usually during decel in 3rd/4th and I barely touch the gas for it to happen. It is sporadic though.

The 2K rev at cold start is very normal. It should rev to about 2K and then slowly decay as the car gets warmed.

Check for vacuum leaks too. You would be amazed at what little pin holes can do to your idle stability.

Make sure you are not running too much timing in the 1500 rpm and lower and 70 load and lower. This could cause idle hunting.

You might also consider a slight BISS adjustment.

If you have not already done so, tear apart your throttle body and clean the heck out of it. Even pull the BISS out and clean it and the holes around it. Q-tips and Throttle body cleaner work great. The 03 TB have a goofy little air diverter that is on a coil spring. Over time it can get gunked up. Clean it good. Since you are going to have it apart you may as well replace the seals too.

The initial 2k rev is understandable but is it suppose to do it everytime the car is revved? For example, I start the car and it revs to 2k, then slowly tapers to about 1.5k. I back out of the driveway, as I take it out of reverse to put it in 1st, it revs to 2k. It will continue to rev to 2k everytime the car is in neutral until its up to temp. Is this normal?

I am also getting lean tip in issues when it is cold. The car bogs on take off.

I received my mil spec seals so I am going to see if that helps.

The "Accel enrich base vs engine temp" table is the initial rich tip adder when you mash the gas to accelerate. Some adjustment might be necessary because of your injector/fuel combo. Higher is richer, lower is leaner.

For those that are having cold start issues please do the following......

1) make sure your "Start IPW Latency mcsec" matches your 14.06v Injector latency value
2) "Percent Low Timing Trim vs Coolant Temp" controls how much of the table in step 3 is used
3) Low Coolant Temp Timing Trim" is the timing pulled when the engine is cold. Most applications won't need timing to be pulled this much because there isn't a cat that needs to be rapidly warmed. Adjust as necessary.

OPTIONAL
"Idle Stability Timing Control" The first values sets the sensitivity and the second value sets the range. Sometimes the range can be reduced to help stabilize idle.

"Desired ISCV tables" set the ISCV steps at a given temp and engine condition. Raising the values increases the airflow into the engine. Too high will cause CEL codes.

"Desired Idle RPM tables" must be tapered higher in colder temps.

The arrow points to a table that has the settings that cured my 2k rev completely.
when it was warm I never had a problem but when it got <60*F it was 2k rev. as you can see the values in the lower temp areas are lower.
Settings came out of a ralliart(tm) rom. The table on the right is stock.

My idle is extremely steady with the these settings and never stalls. I've matched biss/idle rpm, with the actuator test on or off the idle is the same.

Jorge T, great call. A very simple solution indeed and works great. I have tuned my cold idle setting to perfection with this table.

Anyone have issues switching to their alt map on 0715? I use my intercooler sprayer switch, which works fine for 9653.

Glad people are finally adjusting Desired ISCV...only thing that worked for me. My has idled great since I tweaked mine. Even in 20*F weather.
