I have been studying and considering speed density, however, I don't really need it. Car runs great now...even cold. I might invest in the aluminum driveshaft lol...I can't stop, i thought i could over come the need to upgrade. But I think that "should" do me for awhile.

I feel you on the mod bug.

Did you look at all of the xml stuff I sent you? Everything in 94170715 should work in the stock 0015 rom. Just be aware that anything that shows up could be changed and could cause issues. You will at least be able to see every table that I have found.

Anyone else out there testing/driving on 94170715 or 94170015 ? ? ?

Both.

Talk about your findings/likes/dislikes/recommendations/setup(s) etc.

All v7 updates have been applied to 94170715.

I also have a pretty much fully defined 94170015 and evo7base as well. Really your car will not drive any differently using either one. Just the v7 version has a lot more bells and whistles....and big maps.

I was referring to the ZIP file posted on Feb 7 vs the ZIP file posted on Feb 5; both are 94170715v7. I know the XML was updated; was the ROM also updated?

The rom was not changed. It is the original v7 from tephra.

Well, after running the 94170715 v7 ROM for the past week, I'm back to running the 96530706 v7 ROM.

The 9417 was a little less inclined to start, sputtered a bit while starting and after starting until idle takes over. Whilst driving it was just not as smooth or responsive as 9653.

I must say I'm surprised. I fully expected the 9417 to work better than 9653, since it is closer in evolutionary formation to my early production '03 VIII.

My advice, regardless of the year, try each of these ROMs for at least a week. See which runs best in your car.

Jim....It could be that you are running e85 and the settings on 9417 are not as well known. I am quite certain that either rom can run equally well given adequate tuning.

You are right though.....give each a try and go for the one you like most.

Oh, I have not given up on the 9417. I spent weeks getting the 9653 to suit me. As the 9417 gets further sorted I'll try it again I'm sure. Thanks again Paul for all of your work and contribution to the EVO community.
