Ecuflash - Portable app?
Ecuflash - Portable app?
Just throwing this out there, but is there anyway to make the Ecuflash program into a portable app or non-installed exe?
This would allow working/viewing a ROM on a admin locked down PC, like a work laptop or library/school computer. This would not allow flashing or driver install, but would allow ROM manipulation for logs run previous.
Thoughts?

what I did was extract the files and install the program on a usb key,
it was an older version mind you, but I could insert the usb key into my work computer and run ecuflash from the key,
I could edit and see all my maps,
had to transfer over my xml files to my new install folder but it worked

Just make a copy of an existing install. I do this pretty regularly so that I can work with multiple incompatible metadata versions (tephra's test releases all moved stuff around, for example).
In other words, just copy the C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash directory (and everything in it) and stick it on your USB stick. The machine you're using it on will need the FTDI drivers installed, but they're also in that directory if you need them.
