? Un-install ecuflash... completely clean???

Ok, I have done this countless times, and h8 to ask, but I have un-installed/re-installed 10 times, and still get my old ecuflash, w/ my old roms... I have even asked this before in another thread (but dont remember where), this comp just doesnt wanna work w/ me...

Reason 4 doing this: I was using v.5 and trying to make the switch to v.7... Well loaded the rom this morning on the way to work, seemed to be just fine while cruising, but when I did my first pull, i hit 25.5psi @ 2800, or atlest the log showed. The car did not feel like it hit 25psi, and did not feel right. So I just swapped the .xmls and rom... Well I was trying to avoid getting any issues running both versions, so I un-installed...

Now: I open up the .xmls, pull them out, and try to open up a "stock" rom, and its still showing my v 5.1 88590015, but not the base. w/ the .xms'l completely out of the folder!

I have "searched" the comp, using the search feature, erased any folders, checked the comp/program files... WTF, what am I missing???

just noticed that if I put back in the stock .xmls, it will show the stock defs... But i I take them out, its still finding and older 88590015 v5 .xml...

which leads me to think, theres still somethin goin on here... It should NOT show me my v5 defs w/ no .xmls in the folder!

my comp. H8's me...

you need to remove any ecuflash tagged files from the registry.

yeah you better check windows secret folder for program files. I can't remember the thing that Microsoft set up, but its to do with you are no longer allowed to store user saved files in program files. this is brought in since windows 6 (vista). also go into regedit and find openecu and ecuflash and delete the fker paths from there

Will they pop up if I "search" the comp? (using the search feature)
Note: searched the comp. for "ecuflash" and deleted any misc. folders/.xml's, to no avail...

After running the Revo uninstaller I would suggest you install Ecu flash in a custom location such as c:\ecuflash. Vista will cache files as part of the UAC. When you uninstall Ecuflash using conventional methods the files do not get deleted and when you reinstall you will see backup folders created of all of the xml files. Under options in Ecuflash you can point it to where you want the app. to read the metadata or xml files from as well. You can google how to disable Vista UAC and get rid of a lot of problems or nags such as how often Vista asks for permission to etc.....

Good Luck and PM me on SoCalEvo board (or here) if you still need help after trying all things suggested.

Good Luck

this is exactly what its doing! I deleted the "backups" I found, but didnt help.

Im gonna try the "revo" and do as you suggested.

TY, as well! If I cant get it, I'll be in touch! for some reason, the previous app. lost its "path" to read the color maps, fixed that, so I should be able to get the romettadata workin... Im also gonna look into disabling the vista UAC... Thanks again, for yet another tip!

Ive been having all kinds of "lil" issues, and have been asking all kinds of questions lately... Just wanted to say thanks for responding, and helpin me out!!!

Its comforting to know that I can pop in here and actually get the insight/info Im looking for, as I tend to get "excited" when things like this arent working correctly, an Im not comp. savy enough to know what to do...
"comp. newb" FTL...

Check out this link.....

It talks about how Vista can "hide" or cache files

http://www.clipboardextender.com/off...-hide-and-seek

Best to turn off the UAC it makes Vista a little better.

PS I had a similar issue with Evoscan logs not being there when I was running Vista
