Thanks for your assistance. Bugger, have to get a 2.0 cable then. I have checked and chip is MH7202F. All i want to do is disable the immobiliser in ECU because I bought the engine and ECU separately to the vehicle.

 

I have purchased a 2.0 cable and successfully downloaded the rom from my ecu. The problem now is I cannot find any definition files for my vehicle. If I can find out the address of the immobiliser in the .bin file can I directly edit the entry and then reflash? Or does anyone know of definition files for 6g72, ECU rom MH7202F? Any help is most welcome.

 

I've attached a basic definition which will give you access to the immboliser after you find the ROM ID. You will need to use a hex editor (I used HxD) on the ROM file to find the hexadecimal values for the 4 bytes at offset 0x21A through 0x21D. With that you then open the attached XML file in a text editor (I use Notepad++ but Windows Notepad should work) and replace the value "22490005" in the 3rd and 5th lines of the definition file with the 4byte hexadecimal code. The value in your ROM should be "2???000?" where the "?" characters need to be replaced by hexadecimal values (without the leading "0x" commonly used by programmers like me).

There's at least one person on this Australian forum who has done some work on definitions for an NL Pajero ROM which has similarities to the V6 MK Triton ROM.
