Evoscan + Win7 = randomly disconnected

Hi all,

I have problem when using the Evoscan 2.7 beta 5 and OP1.3 on my new netbook with Win7. I always get disconnected randomly couple minutes later after I started logging. It logged as normal, but after few minutes, (sometimes less, sometimes more,) the logger disconnected automatically, and it stated "Error: No response from Vehicle ECU", and no other error code, and I was still driving my car without unplug any cable. If I click the "start logger" again, and it starts again without problem, but then disconnects again randomly.

My new nebook is IBM X100e with AMD Athlon Neo NV-40. I don't have such problem with my old netbook with WinXP(N270 CPU).

Does anyone have the same problem as mine? Is the problem about Win7 and WinXP? Or is the the problem of AMD and Intel CPU?

Thanks a lot.

Can you get the car close enough to an electrical outlet? If so can you keep the netbook plugged in and see if this same thing reproes?

I used battery, but even my old netbook, I used battery as well, and didn't have this problem.

I figured you used the battery in the past but I'd like to see if this is related to power plan settings. Win Vista+ is more aggressive as to what it turns off when running on battery by default.

Right, but I have already customized the settings, to off those power saving things. But maybe if there is no clue....I will try to choose "max performance" and turn on every peripherals.

I'd start with that and move from there.

I have the same problem. Randomly disconnects and then reconnects, and very often. Win7 x86. I don't have the nvidia chipset.

I was worried about Win 7 (b/c new) and Evoscan / EcuFlash / ZT etc....I just got a new laptop and am loading all the Evo software right now...With my XP laptop, I would have random disconnect issues as well and the only fix was to reboot and have the laptop plugged into a power source (bought a 12v to 120v converter).

+2^

Check the baud rate your PC is using for the com port registered for the tactrix.......lower it to 9600 and see if that helps.
