Thanks for that mate,

Well i just took the car out for another run but i didnt log it and it seemed to have a similar issue to the first map, weird.

Anyway, ive had another go at smoothing everything out, tell me what you think, i havent ran the car like this yet so i dont have any logs.

Im not sure how to scale it back down with the new big maps, ill search the forum though.

Ive only really had this kind of drama since converting over to Tephra Maps (big maps), just need to sort it out

looks alright but also fix up your fuel maps - you look like your running rich

id aim for 12.5 -12.8 spool, at up top 11.5-11.3 afr.

after you ve done this with your fuel maps, check for knock again and you might be able to get a little more timing at peak areas, and up the top rpm range..

timing looks pretty good now

Yeh timing does look good now, but that last timing map seems i have gone backwards,

Check my log for the above timing map

I forgot to log my wideband that run, but my previous log shows AFR go from 12.5 @2500 to 11.5 @3500 and then slowly goes down to 11.1-10.9

Really starting to do my head in i cant see how i have gone backwards

Im going to load a slightly leaner map with the above timing map, ill log that and see what happens.

Do you now think its a fuel issue not a timing issue, the map is pretty smooth right now

Still cant seem to win with this.

Ive read and read and ive noticed theres a few people getting random knock counts using the tephra roms, not sure why though

You need to make sure your spark plugs are fresh and in good condition. Fouled plugs can cause random knock. Is your knock in the same part of the map every time? Try to do two to three identical pulls and see if the knock is in the same part of the map and repeatable.

If the knock is inconsistent you need to check and see if you have a boost leak, or exhaust leak, because they will both cause knock.

Don't give up. Trust me, once you get V7 running smooth, you'll thank yourself.

Oh im not giving up lol

Plugs are new, exhaust is only a few months old, i did a boost leak test the other week all was good.

Knock isnt in the same spot all the time, and it depends what gear im in, ive also heard that S2's can cause random knock too.

This weekend in AUS we have a long weekend, im going to be making changes and logging all weekend, see where i get with it

I have not heard anything about GSC cams getting false knock only kelford 272's on the evo 8's.

Your fueling still needs work. Richen things up a bit more during spool up and your lower loads. I tend to ignore knock at anything under a 90-100 unless it keeping some up into the higher loads.

Also your spool up timing it kinda low, you could probably add some more timing.

Nex for your WOT in boost try a little lower fueling target like 11.1-11.3 especially if your still on a stock FMIC.

I noticed in your log your TPS never hits 100 you might want to check that the throttle is opening all the way and if it is look at your TPS sensor.

A lot of it seems to be mid throttle knock.

Try and get some smaller logs with runs from 2500-7000 without all the regular driving in the middle it helps when looking at them.

its not about how close its about how ... smooth you dont want any abrupt changes like going from 3* @ peak tq to 6-7* the next rpm cell. the smoother the transition the happier the engine and the lower the likely-hood of knock.
now how fast you ramp up timing is up to you and how your engine reacts to it and realy how much resolution you have in your map. also look @ the 3d map and you want it to be smooth if you see any abrupt changes then you can consider that a big gap in degree advance/retard

Timing is a little high pre spool (80-100), looks like you might be getting some of that knock from BOV flutter being misinterpreted based on the TPS value being so low vs the load. I ginore all knock less than 200% load on a MAF car and around 10psi on a SD car. I also have years of basemaps so I dont generally see it anyway.

98RON is around our 92 or 93 (RON + MON / 2)?
