do you want full gear control, ie 1/2/3/4/5/6 maps?

or just high/low with customizable crossover (like boost)

me personally probably wouldn't use it, but then I don't have an FPRed

Do you need 9 different MIVEC altmaps?
I can only speak of my experience with the green. The green only really needs High/low as gears 1-3 (on a GSR) seem to be able to handle my mivec just fine.

Sometimes 4th and 5th aren't to happy so my vote is high/low.

Gear based tunes (1-6) seems good, but I am also thinking of the tuning headaches it could cause, having to check/change all 6 tunes to make a global change.

For the resistor on the 5v switch will a .5 watt 220 ohm be good enough? The store I went to only got .5 270 ohm or 220 ohm

you wont fry the ECU

get the 270 Ohm, I higher resistance means the ECU see less current/voltage.

Once you have it hooked up I can tell you what to log so you can set the cutover voltage

Ok so for my hfs6 the yellow harness I got the white wire grounded and the black wire running to the 270 ohm resistor/ black and white wire . Now how do I log the volts to see what I have to adj.

log 0x805009 (just 1 byte)

Eval = x*5/255

Then turn the HFS guage on and off - you should see the value flick up and down.

report back with the numbers for both

tephra,

I would like to annouce...

The latest HFS3-v2 has incorporated an inline resistor on board so map switch for the X is now only a one wire affair.
