Wondering about octane on demand, 2nd fuel tank

What would you need to make it work, also posted on eng/turb/drivetrain to see if mechanically anyone has done it. I asked in here because I wanted to see if it's possible with the stock ecu or you would need a stand alone with 8 inj drivers.

my quote from eng/turb/drivetrain

Has anyone done this on a 4g63 car? I was thinking it would be perfect for guys who didn't have super easy access to the e85 and could just run a larger oem fuel tank for pump and then a boost referenced smaller e85 tank. Yes I have researched this somewhat before on another forum and the problem was that we run a return with the fuel and where would that go?

Any tuners/builders are especially welcome to post!

meth injection is just kinda scary (yes I know about tephra and the 3 milla second response time of the stock ecu) but this thread is just about people wanting to run e85 on demand and run pump too because of the unavailability of the e85.

hang on so u dont think... a makeshift tank with piping etc relying on either a manual valve or an electric circuit/motor operated valve is scary. i mean u are not scared of having a boot full of a tank of pump gas.

anyway this is an interesting thought... i know u can get bladder tanks for "race" evos that increase the tank capacity.

You will regret all the effort of doing a dual tank rather than doing meth injection. If you're not an idiot it's not a problem, I've been using injecton for 4 years now on my track EVO8 with no issue. This thing stays at 24psi for 20 solid straight minutes at a time. It's not a street car. Don't give up all that trunk space and pick up 20lb of fuel just to do it the hard way. Really think about it and go the methanol route. So long as you're not doing "just because everyone else is" and you keep an eye on things you're perfectly fine.

edit:

I'll even say this: I wouldn't suggest this to someone, but I don't even have any failsafes on my system. I built it all and not one part is from a kit. The only thing I have to tell me it's on is an LED on the dash. If it stops coming on, there's a problem. Hit the alt maps button and keep going, diagnose later. Super easy. I promise you won't beat on your car as hard as I beat on mine.

I have seen the dual fuel tank setup with V8 guys, but they'll switch to a completely seperate fuel system at that boost referenced point. They don't seem to have discovered the idea of meth injection, which is literally a high octane fuel (way higher than race gas), injected at a (usually) boost referenced time. It's pretty much the same thing, just done a little differently.
