here is the answer how to log :
"you can log it, but unfortunately evoscan doesnt support usb output/input, so you will have to connect using serial output on LM2. To do so, you will have to buy rs-232 (db9) cable, com port / usb adapter (or you will need a laptop with com port) , cut it and wire it to serial output of LM2 (1 wire goes to TX, 1 to RX and the 3rd one to ground), all this hassle because innovate made DB9 output on LM2, but they dont supply the cable."

and https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...g-evoscan.html

I can log without any problems.

i had this problem a year ago, and i searched alot and posted on the Innovate Forum with no luck!

there is no simple solution. some people talked about a certain hardware cable that can be purchased from innovate to solve this problem. but i didnt follow this.

just buy an LM 1. it is still the best device to work with all softwares.
Thanks fadi..tried to get and LM-1 but unfortunately its discontinued

I have all the special cables for the LM-2, and im still unable to log through evoscan. I've tried v2.0 and 2.6, without any useable data. It keeps swinging between a constant value and 0 in LM-1 mode, and registers 0 in all other modes.

Does the polarity have to be switched if I'm using a female to female audio adapter? Could that be the issue? How are you guys able to log the lm2 in evoscan (I've extensively read the other thread)

Confirmed working for me with Evoscan/logworks/pcm scan/LINK/Vipec

4 pin Molex plug serial cable for LM2, cut off 2.5mm stereo plug
Get a dB9 female serial plug (or cut up an old cable) can be bought from radio shack for like $5

Looking at the molex plug with clip to top
Wire the top 2 plugs (of molex cable) to ground on db9 which is pin 5
Wire bottom left plug (of molex cable) to pin 3 on db9
Wire bottom right plug (of molex cable) to pin 2 on db9

use serial to usb to connect to pc

Select right com port (the 1 that your usb to serial is on) in evo scan, then in wdb drop down select the LC1 option (not LM1 they run different protocols!)
Then check box to log External wideband A/F Ratio

Works for me every time!!!!

Ok. So I've been trying to get this to work, and it still won't log in evoscan 2.0, 2.6 or 2.7

I made the cable you suggested and still have no log data. However, it does connect to logworks and read fine, even when daisy chained through the lc-1.

What OS are you guys running? my tuning lappy is still on vista...:/

Only workaround I've found is to just log the afr on the unit itself or in logworks, and manually input it into the .csv using a interpolator/compressor

P.s. Your plug making solution is the same as the 2.5mm stereo coupler solution. Unless of course you meant bottom left plug when looking at it from the wired side, in that case it would require me to switch db-9 pins 2&3

Also, LC-1 still logs and works fine with all versions of evoscan.
