Stock IX ECU Flash questions
I was going to trade my car but decided not to. My car is back to 100% stock right now. I have decided to keep it stock till after winter. I have a few questions about ecu flashing a stock IX.
1. Is it safe to flash my ecu with the JDM mivec settings only without changing anything else?
2. If it is safe, are there any benefits to doing it?
3. If I decide to do a full custom ecu flash & use the rear o2 sensors bung to put in my wide band to make logs, will I get accurate readings & not run into problems doing so with rear o2 sensor disconnected?

Changing the MIVEC settings alone won't make a big difference, if any at all. You are much better off reading the How to tune an Evo thread and learning how to tune in general. You will see much better gains via an intake/exhaust and learning how to tune than just changing MIVEC settings.

Partially answered above. It is safe to change things, but I wouldn't do so until your WBO2 is installed.

Using the Rear O2 to log WBO2 via the ECU is a very popular method, I have this done in fact. It is very nice to be able to log everything via the OBDII port and not have to worry about a third party logging software for AFRs. Many people run without a functional rear O2 sensor. In fact, the only reason why they are there is to test the catalytic converter and make sure it is still converting unburnt hydrocarbons to a more environmentally friendly form. It is not needed, and many people run without a cat, let alone without a rear O2. You will get accurate readings from the WBO2 through the rear O2 channel on the ECU, but make sure to mount the WBO2 BEFORE the cat or else your readings will be inaccurate.

Thanks. This is not going to be a permanent tune anyway just trying to get a quick & easy tune till I get my WBO2 wired & hooked up.
