I checked every fuse with a multimeter. I checked fuse #1 twice. I don't visually look at them. It's too much of a pain in the *** to pull them all out. Timing is on. Pretty sure the cas pickup is correct, but will double check tomorrow.

I can see the coolant sensor plugged in, but will actually check it tomorrow. I will also be checking the crank sensor.

Thanks guys!

Ok. The cas sensor vane thing is correct. I checked the cps sensor. It seems to be working fine. Checked the coolant sensor and it's good. Checked the cas sensor itself and it seems to be good. I am getting all the correct voltages and readings that I can get according to the service manual.

I still do not get cels when I disconnect the cps or the cas with the key on. To me this seems to be incorrect. Can someone check on theirs to make sure that they do infact come on? Thank you.

Cams and injectors were the only things that I would think would be related. I turned it back to stock to trade in. So ic piping, ic, external things like that.

I just checked cps wiring to the ecu and it's good.

Cams were installed correctly, as were the cas sensors. Timing is on. No fuses are blown, verified with a multimeter. All sensors (cps, cas, ect) getting 12v power and/or 5v power. Cps, cas sensor transistors verified to work by putting voltage to them and verifying them switching. Verified no spark by pulling a plug and grounding it. Cylinders are dry, nor does fuel pump prime when I turn on the key. Evoscan will start fuel pump, but will not fire injectors. Wiring to ecu verified intact.

Pretty much leaves a bad ecu right?

to test if its a bad ecu i would suggest borrowing an evo 9 ecu from a local evo owner.

If i remeber correctly i dont believe the fuel pump turns on until you actually crank the motor. If you have no spark or fuel it has to be crank or cam sensor, or possibly a bad ecu. I do not believe anything else will disable spark and fuel

no when u engage the ignition with the key to the on position 12v is applied to the power wire of the fuel pump, now have u tested the battery?? the alternator?? u can try tapping the starter with a rubber mallet and see if you get any cranking?? if you do possible bad starter..??? double check the wiring... seems like u covered the basics so far...good luck

Yeah the fuel pump will prime when you turn the key on whether cranking or not. The battery and starter are fine. The car cranks just fine. I'm assuming the alternator is fine too.

I have a couple of ideas, I'm not sure if they will helpful or not though...
1) are you running a tephramod stuck in valet mode by accident? hold Throttle to floor when turning key on.
2) did you put an invalid immob code in your rom and flash it to ecu, or corrupt rom try an earlier saved rom?
3) do you have spark ? take the plug and hold the edge to metal whilst cranking.. you will see a spark, or use a timing light to check.
watch this from the 2minute mark on wards... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LogSf...eature=related
4) did you read the symptoms chart and follow all the steps in the Evo9 manual?
http://www.evoscan.com/vehicle-manuals
5) do you have fuel pressure?
6) are injectors firing?

It finally started. Not sure what was wrong. I ordered a new ecu, and after several cranks on the new ecu it finally wanted to start. A couple cranks later it started then died. It did this a few times. Then it finally ran and has ran fine ever since. I swapped back in the old ecu and it runs fine. I have no idea what was wrong or what. I didn't fix or do anything that I'm aware of. But all seems to be good now.

That is very weird. Maybe a few wires on the harness connector wernt making a good enough contact on the ecu

yeah must be loose wires on the ecu, or when the vibration of the engine reconnected some wires in the engine bay, I sure hope it holds up would have been better to find the fault, all you have now is an intermittent one which is even harder to diagnose.

I agree. But I haven't had any problems since.
