EvoScan not reading diag codes

Ok so i have a weird problem im not sure how to fix. I have the latest version of EvoScan, i can log the car with no problems all the time, but however when i try to read the DTC's it keeps saying "no response from vehicle ECU" every now and then it will work and display the codes, or if i have none at the time it will still read and connect but it will say "0 codes found" or whatever. Any ideas guys??

Im getting the same thing. Running evoscan 2.8, 96531076 ROM, EVO VIII ECU. Had the same issue with the previous version as well. Cant clear DTC's all the time either, but actuator tests seem to function about 90% of the time.

Same discussion is going on over here:

Did the upgrade and a full reinstall, including removing all old files and and folders, and reg entries. Still no luck.

I have noticed that the DTC clearing/reading on EVOscan can be temperamental.

Usually the only way I get it to work is with laptop on, cables plugged in, open evoscan and then immediately try to read or erase DTC.

That method makes it work for me 90% of the time.
