okay this is for an 06 evo, i dowloaded latest ecuflash, drivers for openport 2.0. i open up ecuflash and plug into the obd port, the little jumper and plug into computer. i get no vehicle interface. I assume it is not recognizing the cable??

i have an asus laptop, with windows 7.

Mine does this after a long time of not connecting the the car...mine helps if after I plug everything in...then turn the key to acc and it'll pick it up and begin to work...

Should my laptop pick up the cable even if its not plugged into the car?

Okay well thats a start... i plug the tactrix cable into the usb port on my laptop and it does no pick it up or recognize a divice there

 

Try uninstalling evoscan and ecuflash and reinstall. That may help, I think that its possible that your drivers did not install correctly.

 

I tried that multiple times but no luck at all. The USB slots do work too I tried another device.

 

And from my understanding i let my friend borrow this and he was using this cable for a little while.

 

Downloaded ecuflash (with drivers) onto my desktop, and still when the USB cable is plugged in with the tactrix box the computer still does not recognize anything and no device is found

 

No devices or an unknown device? Does it make a sound when you plug it in? Do other things work when plugged into that port on your laptop?

No device, not even a sound. The usb ports do work with other devices.

 

Go into device manager and add/remove programs and see if any tactrix stuff is installed. If so, manually remove it and uninstall everything and reinstall.

 

under add/remove prorams 3 driver packages from tactrix, and then ecuflash itself.

 

Still no luck. Not sure why computers are not picking it up when i plug it in.
