Cams and lopiness???

Hey, I have been reading up on how to make cams lopier or less lopey. I currently have S2's and I would like the car to sound like they have cams. Mellon did a great job on smoothing them out but I am playing around trying to get them to sound more lopey. I have Mivec and played with advancing the intake cam at idle but I don't know how advance to make it. I have a 3* right now and it seems to have gotten bit more lopey but am afraid to advance it more. I also played with the timing at idle by decreasing and incresing timing. I really don't think this helped much but just made it idle poorly by causing the car to stumble at idle as opposed to being lopey. Whats the most i want to advance the mivec intake cam and any other suggestions???

You should be able to add more MIVEC advance without any trouble. Try 7-10° of intake advance

I believe ignition timing smoothes it out when raised not mivec.

How would you smooth out the lope on a E8?

raise the idle rpm and timing and it will remove the lope.. want the lope? then lower the target rpm as low as it can be stable. around 750-850rpm. it can be done with mivec also like raptord pointed out.

if you use the biss to lower the RPM, be sure to freeze the idle air controller so you dont throw its calibration off when adjusting the idle set screw via the speed adjustment screw (SAS actuator) in evoscan.

x1000 on this, you do NOT want to screw around (pun not intended) with the BISS without the SAS actuator being activated.
